There is one aspect of the Credit Card "checks" that bothers me - and that is how can these be returned AFTER the midnight deadline? If these truly are checks, then we should be rightfully refusing the returns if they are coming back late. It should be the payor bank's problem at that point and not ours.
If for any reason they are exempt from the midnight deadline, then they really are not checks and should be excluded from the availability schedule of Reg CC - in which case I have no problem slapping a hold on each and every one of them.
So what gives?
