The heat index should be just about 100 today.

For the next three days the average temp will be around 100 with the heat index around 108, 116 and 110.

Then it should cool back down a whole 3-4 degrees, plus heat index!

We did get 10 minutes of rain yesterday. It cooled down for about half an hour and then the heat index shot way back up!

I can't send heat your way unfortunately, but i may just have to send myself that way. Sounds incredibly nice.

I'm in South Carolina, and I think we're actually a little cooler that our Northern friends. 99 today, 101 tomorrow. Heat indexes about 110. It's the humidity down here that's the killer. You can practically see the moisture in the air. I ran about a mile and a half with my daughter's soccer team last night and it looked like somebody had dumped a bucket of water on me.

99 with 115 heat index today. Then heading back down to the 80s for all next week. Rain scheduled for Sunday but I'm watering my plants today to tide them over. I like heat but will be happy when I can turn off the AC next week and open the windows again.

That sounds so sweet!!! 67 and 73 this weekend...that sounds so heavenly!!! I have a friend going to Ruidoso next week and I know the temps will be much cooler, wish I was going with!!!!

We expect hot summers here....normally you get little welcome breaks that last a day or two that breaks things up. When you get no breaks whatsoever for 2 months straight, with the prospect of that becoming 4 months straight.....that's when it gets difficult.

currently 100 with heat idex of 108..supposed to hit 116 today...the cool day of the week...the funny part-a local bank had a skimmer on the ATM they didn't know about..until...it MELTED off from the heat!! you should have seen it!

It's currently 96 degrees with a heat index of 111. Wow!

106...but it's a "dry" heat

Just heard from cousin from Ohio - he visited me here in SC for the 4th of July, and just returned from Vegas (rough life, I know). He said he was way more miserable here in the South with the humidity. I think I would rather take the "dry" 106 with low humidity than the 102 we will have 60-70% humidity. That's if the humidity drops. Right now it's 80 with 82% humidity. Feels like you're walking in water.

I'm not saying it's not hot where you're at, it's just that I personally would rather have a "dry" heat than a steambath.

I'd take 106 dry to 102 and humid any day. My hair loves Vegas' dry heat, but hates humidity


When we went to Hoover Dam, it was 125 at 11AM. Gotta say, no matter how dry it is, 125 is still 125. It was like being in a bake oven

You dont how many times I have been told as I was driving through, Utah, Nevada or California deserts, "It wont be too bad, its dry heat". Try sticking a blow dryer in your face or sticking you head in a heated oven.....That's dry heat too! LOL

Oh, and its still 100's here in chilly Oklahoma!

And what they're doing allows us to sit here and gripe about the weather and whatever else crosses our minds. We all appreciate what they do for us.

Nonsense. I admire their patriotism and bravery, but what our soldiers are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan is pointless and doesn't protect us in any way. It's time to bring them home.
