A meteor fell in Weston CT in December 1807. Two skeptical Yale professors investigated the incident and concluded that it had, indeed, come from the sky, contradicting the general scientific opinion at the time.
Thomas Jefferson responded with : "Gentlemen, I would rather believe that two Yankee professors would lie than believe that stones fall from heaven."

"I'm just glad it'll be Clark Gable who's falling on his face and not Gary Cooper," --Gary Cooper on his decision not to take the leading role in "Gone With The Wind."
I think Cooper was half-right. If he had taken the part he would have fallen on his face. Clark Gable's performance is what takes this film from a special-effects spectacular to being a real movie. Rhett Butler was not a Coop part.

Happiness is a choice: "I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.”- Groucho Marx

These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis. These self-obsessed women seemed genuinely unaware that 9/11 was an attack on our nation and acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them. ... I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much ... the Democrat ratpack gals endorsed John Kerry for president ... cutting campaign commercials... how do we know their husbands weren't planning to divorce these harpies? Now that their shelf life is dwindling, they'd better hurry up and appear in Playboy.
