So I'm fairly sure I strained (not bad enough to think I pulled)a combination of muscles in my right arm, from the edge of my forearm into my lower bicep. It's fairly tender at the joint, and anything similar to a curl results in a decent amount of discomfort and tightness afterward. I'm guessing it's a result of hanging over the top of walls and pulling people up, seems the most logical.

Thankfully, this doesn't impact push-ups, but it seems to limit what else I can do with weights especially, and pull-ups too. Rest I guess, as much as I hate rest.

Does he know you just signed him up? He has to sign his own waiver, but he can do that on the morning of, you just have to con him into showing up wink.

My friend wants to go again, and have his wife hang out on the course to dispense insulin as required to keep him more in check. Too bad that one will be held in July next year! So, I might just do one in May and another in July, I think that's plenty of time to recouperate from anything short of a broken bone!

Running buddies - Figure this out. Haven't ran since Sunday and last night, I was standing in the kitchen and my hammies and glutes started quivering/flexing. It did this for probably 20 minutes. Today, we had a fire drill and I had to do 22 flights of stairs. Once down, my knees ached and the muscles around them are quivering. Guess this is a sign to take a few days off? Never had this before, but lately with my runs, my legs have been feeling more fatigued (not sore) than usual.

We're you dehydrated? Low on sugar? Low on potassium? Those are my first guesses.

Sugar issues can show up as many different thing.

There was not a earthquake at the time was there?

Drink some tonic water, it will go away. Promiss.
It works for eye twitches and also helps keep cramps down.

This time of year I have to start drinking Powerade or Gatorade to keep silly stuff like that from happening. I hate drinking calories, but its necessary.

I like the G2 Gatorade - it's pretty light on calories and quences my thirst after a hot run. It also doesn't seem quite as "Harsh" as the regular Gatorade.

^^ Puts the salt packets that come with the McDonalds fries in his Big Glug Pepsi and claims he needs to replenish his electrolytes.

nuun water.

Seriously, I think I may be addicted to that stuff, and if I have some before a short run, I don't even bother with the Gu or anything, and no cramps. Love it!

Those muscle tremors can be arrested by the quinine in the tonic water.
But the gatorade/powerade is absolutely needed if you are going to train in heat. Dehydration, heat prostration, heat stroke, cramps, death.....pick your reason. smile

Tried tonic water - ick! Was it on account of it being diet? Can I mix something with it?

Ran 7 this morning without kinesio tape and I can barely bend my knee - even after PT worked on it. OUCH!

Painted all weekend and feel like I've done way too many push-ups. My arms are like jello yet this morning.

I need a massage!

I never said it was tasty, just that it works. laugh

Diet is nasty. And yes, you can add stuff (gin is common, but take it easy on that). smile
I like to but the small bottles of Schwepps and cut up a strwberry and put it in there. You can add lime, or even a little cut up pineapple. I've gotten use to it, so I just drink it. It does not require a huge amount to be effective. 4 small bottles will easily last a week.
