You know, it was fine to oogle and leer, but the crude comment put you over the edge Pup! Shameful.

Kitten, you'll have to let us know if you like this or not. I've been thinking about getting it too. I've gone to the class a couple times with my daughter and I think I got a better workout from laughing than the actual exercise. I'm hoping the Wii game is just as fun.

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
Santa brought Kid Wonder the zumba for Wii for Christmas. We have fun with this. She spends all her time laughing at me, then I get tickled. But it is fun - good cardio.

So I'm late to the party. Been keeping up with the thread, but we've been invaded by examiners (there's like 30 here) and haven't had time to post. I'm super exceited about this as I've gotten really out of shape in the last year. Been able to the right number of pushups on my balance ball each day. My husband and my oldest son are also doing the challenge.

We also started the Couch to 5K this week, though I'm a little concerned since I'm having shin splints already...any advice for treating shin splints and still being able to get in some cardio?

WELCOME TO WEEK 3!!

If you're like me, you are planking by week, so if you are, it is Week 3, Day 1. Up your time/reps.

Also, it's day 15 - if you are following the original program. If you have decided to follow your own modified program, let us know what you are doing.

Did you think that you would be able to do this 2 weeks ago? I hope you all are feeling as proud of yourselves as I am.

Keep it up. smile

I am still doing the double +2, and starting to struggle. I may have to stick with the double count without any new add ons until the day catches up to my number...(does that make sense?)

Figure I can build up my strength by doing 30 a day for at least the next week...

I've been staying caught up with the pushups (modified)... up to 45 second planks (front and each side).

Up'd my pushups to 30 on my weight training days. Still not too bad, but I'm not looking forward to the days of having to do 100+.

Sometimes I think just turning the music up and dancing around my place would be the most fun workout evaah! laugh

It was fun, but my goat, my spine has NO flexibility. Apparently.

Even the cats were a little freaked. laugh

I stretch to the top of my cupboards where the liquor is kept!

Stretching is so very important in all exercises, for both flexibility and injury prevention. :Music Notes: The more you know! :Music notes: (stolen from the old NBC commercials)

Pedaling along a scenic highwa...
Okay, so I took a step back on my day off yesterday. After sleeping until 11, I got up, showered and did a set of 20. I then went to the kitchen, had lunch, then took a nap. Out of guilt, I did a set of 16, took another nap, then was in bed with the aide of Ny-Quil around 9.

So, this morning I did sets of 20, 16, and 18.

I'm happiest that I have been consistently able to put up 20 in my first set each of the last few days. I know that by year's end, those will have to be bigger sets, so my goal is to continue to increase my first set. The fact that I was able to increase with my 3rd set was also encouraging. Now, I'm not talking about a 2 minute rest between sets here. It's at least 5-10. If I did them back to back, my 2nd set would have been closer to 12 and my 3rd would have been closer to 8. I need the reps and need to be able to lift my arms throughout the day, so I am trying to take it easy. Tying my tie was interesting this morning as that last set of 18 was pretty close to muscle failure. I plan to put up 2 more sets this evening, each at or above 16. We'll see how it goes.

You know you've done a good arm workout when you need assistance to wash your hair and button your shirt! It's also just a good excuse wink

Keep up the good work!

So very true! You know you did well when you have to "get your nerve up" to try and pull your T-shirt off over your head!

Pup, you are really doing well! Keep doing it the way that you are. The numbers will come. Be patient. Be consistant. Your wrestling brain is kicking in already. Working through the sickness is like working through the pain.

Someone once described a high-intensity workout as one where, if a bear came crashing in as soon as you were done, you'd ask him to come back later so you could actually run away.

That takes me to the time when I went snowboarding for the first time. The next day I could barely get my arms up to wash my hair and when I finally got them up to my head, I had to move my head to lather instead of my hands. I don't think my arms had ever had that good of a workout til then and since! ALl that having to push up when I fell on my booty.

Been there. A really good leg workout is one where you wobble with every step. In fact, we used to do upper body on one day and legs the other, resting one day. On leg days, we also did cardio, which was often a one on one game of full court basketball. Ahhhhhhh, the days.

Yesterday I finally had to break up my sets.

I did a solid 12, then after the spa, another 4.

I was also good and went to the gym for tradmill and elliptical.
