I would have thrown my back out laughing at the idea that I could do 100 pushups and 100 situps in one day! I hardly dare say this but (quiet font) I think it's getting easier (/quiet font). Thanks, Triple-B! Hope everyone had a fantabulous Easter.

Had dinner with Pup and CheekEE last night! Mongolian stir fry! It was good food and good company!! No pushups were done during dinner. Sorry Matt.

I'm disappointed for a number of reasons. Mostly because I didn't have Mongolian stir fry with good company!

I'll be there in May, looks like I'll be missing the festivities in June unless my check from the El Gordo Lottery jackpot comes in. I sent the money for the fees via Western Union last week so it should be any day now.....

Pick me up in May and I'll just have to hang out down there until June?? That doesn't seem like the best idea. Though I can probably do just about as much work from there as I do sitting here!
I'll be waiting by the highway with my suitcase. You'll know it's me, probably because I'll be the only one out there!

Apparently you pay for the luxury and opulence that is Will Rogers International Airport in OKC. I could fly to Los Angeles cheaper than I can fly to OKC for some reason.
Also, fares vary so much there is almost a $300 variation from the cheapest round trip I have taken to the most expensive. When booking my latest flight, I waited 24 hours and airfare doubled.
If anyone has any connections with the airlines or tricks for getting discounts, I would greatly appreciate it!

A friend of mine married into an airline family. Her father-in-law is a pilot for United. They have three kids and nobody in the extended family has ever paid for airfare anywhere in the world, and they travel a LOT. I try not to be jealous, but mostly it doesn't work. Short of marrying into the inner circle of airline folk, I think kayak or one of those type of websites are your best bet for finding cheap fares (in my experience). I also always volunteer to be bumped if they overbook a flight I'm on and ask for volunteers (if I don't absolutely have to be somewhere on time) because you end up on the very next flight with a $100 - $250 travel voucher you can use next time around as a thank you for your inconvenience (usually an hour or two).

"I could fly to Los Angeles cheaper than I can fly to OKC for some reason."
But at least in OKC you do not have to wait 3 hrs on the security line (after waiting 2 hrs for a boarding pass that you already printed online but for some reason is not good enough).
They make you pay for the time in the airport.
" I think kayak or one of those type of websites are your best bet for finding cheap fares (in my experience)."
You can take a kayak and get anywhere faster than waiting online at lax.

I use Orbitz, but you have to go out and check Southwest fares independently because they don't show on the travel sites. I also do Fare Dog to alert me to specials.
I love to take the bump when I can! I took a voluntary bump off a crappy regional jet in Houston to fly on a 737 2 hours later and they gave me $300 and lunch! Last time I asked if they needed anyone to bump, they made me wait to board last, then the TSA pulled me aside on the jetway and went through my luggage :-/
Always check in online as soon as you can for a flight, even if you need to print your boarding pass at the airport. If you don't want to get bumped, they bump the last to check in first if the flight is oversold. They also will take you first for a voluntary bump if you've checked in early.
Guess there are no real tricks to getting airfare (aside from being related to someone). Sounds like it is the luck of the draw, you win some and lose some.

I wanna be the person at the gate that tells people that they oversold the flight and that even though they paid for a ticket, they can't board the plane. That seems like a pretty fun and stress free job.
