SO I'm still catching up on the push-ups but getting there. My kids and I started running at night when we can.

The other day my poor son was sitting on a bench at school the by himself and one of his teachers sat down and asked him what was wrong...he said his legs hurt from our family run to the church the night before...She thought poor thing so she talked to my mom who works at the school and told her about it and asked how far the church was from where I live...my mom told her where I live and how the church is one block from my house..needless to say the teacher didn't feel so bad for him after that!! lol

Now, my daughter and I did run a mile and a half (which is pretty good for me since we just started running a couple weeks ago)that night, he just happened to be playing at the park that is next to the church and we picked him up on our run back and he ran the whole block back to our house.

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
The weather is pleasant and the days are longer - Kid Wonder and I need to hit the bike/hike trail tonight. Hopefully our afternoon thunderstorms won't be an issue today. I really do love this time of year when we have more daylight and low humidity/heat.

Thanks..my kids love being outside so it helps with the weather being nice..My kids are very athletic so they enjoy staying active. They are pushing me more to run than me pushing them so that is awesome!!!!

Can't wait until we get some better weather here. I think I have half a chance at getting my kiddos motivated.

CG, I can't run 1.5 miles. I'm not sure my cardio-fitness would allow for it and I KNOW my knees and back would rebel.

I think I'll be doing some light jogging (you know, staying in the neighborhood) by summer's end, but I can't promise much. Keep up the good work. smile

Mani, I saw you had a 5 mile run...way to go!

Jen is back up and running the long distances after her flat tire awhile back...awesome!

I still can't quite run around the block. frown

Thanks Pup! You will find ways to get in the cardio you want, whether it's light jogging, biking, swimming, or a combo of those! smile

ETA: You'd probably benefit from interval training. Just an afterthought.

Competitive screaming matches with your kids might not be considered "cardio work", but it sounds like a fun place to start. But I don't have kids, so I'll just keep running.

This thread is briefly interrupted to ask: Do you have your NCAA brackets filled out? 15 minutes left before March Madness officially breaks loose! I've got 3 brackets. The logical one, the Cinderella one, and the reasonable (but obligatory) one except for the part about the Jayhawks going all the way.

I now return you to the regularly programmed thread.

There are BLACK clouds overhead this morning and guaranteed to last all day. My running is going to be on the dreadmill today. frown

I was going to go for a 5.5 mile today but I'm not sure if my attention span will last that long on a treadmill.

Contemplate the meaning of life. That will get you through at least 15!

I've taken to watching movies during my long treadmill runs, it's a good distraction and I can't count on any good TV on Saturday mornings.

Who came up with this silly rule that kids have to be yours to scream at them?

That's true, just head to the park or nearest high school and have at it!
