Took my daughter to buy proper running shoes Saturday and took her for a run yesterday. Granted she only made it a mile, but we all started somewhere. She was not buying my speach that the first mile is the hardest one and it gets easier after you've warmed up, Lol. It was 25 degrees with 20 MPH winds and snow, so I guess I'm lucky she went the mile. She has her first track practice today, so I hope that goes well for her.

That's pretty awesome, and great that you're able to share that with her! It's definitely true, the first mile (or maybe two) are the worst, until you settle into your stride, get your breathing to a normal rate and loosen up. But she'll learn that soon enough, or once she hears it from someone besides her old man

Again, to cool TJ!!! My dad still remembers the first run I took with him and so do I. And my girls both have the workout bug. Its a great family legacy that you have started!

FWIW, I am not delusional - the only reason she is running track is because her boyfriend :involuntary eye twitch: is running. I am just hoping that she will start to enjoy running and want to continue to run even after the boyfriend :involuntary eye twitch: and the track season are over.

You can hope for the best, that one becomes a lasting habit and the other...goes away.

Speaking of running. . . . I hurt today. I'm using the excuse of a sick kid to skip the gym tonight and will go tomorrow and join the yoga class after some light weights.

Oh you will love it!! It is really fun Dip!!! Yes you will have mud everywhere.....EVERYWHERE!....but most of it comes off in the communal shower after!  Mani, you can come run in one with us!
