My son boughttraded a boat for a vette from an old man with disabled plates...he didn't have any problems getting in and out...I think his disability involved his heart. Qualifications for a disabled plates and/or placards are a little loose in some places. Oklahoma is one. I say this because technically, I qualify for one. The fact that I can run 10 miles, hike all day, play racquetball, etc, doesn't really seem to enter into the qualification.

How could anybody see something wrong with a dood coming out of the grocery store that just bought beer and cigarettes with his EBT Card (food stamps) and getting into his heavily modified, 6 inch lifted, $50,000 Raptor Pickup parked in a handicap spot with the cute little blue placard hanging in it? Yeah, I've seen it....

I'm pretty sure in NY you can't use it for any of those things.
(that's why they buy groceries for someone else who gives the person the cash for those things)
