And to bring the thread back full circle- Has anyone tried/seen those pole-dancing for exercise classes? I think it looks like alot of fun, though i'm not nearly coordinated enough to do it. lol I've heard it's really hard and works all sorts of muscles that you don't even realize.

Matt, it was someone I know very well and somehow we had gotten on the topic of strip clubs.

Loralie, they used to have a class here at my gym. The peeps that did take the class said it was awesome. I never tried it....no way was I going to try that when the room had windows for the roiders to watch me make a fool of myself....plus I would probably have broken something i didn't realize I had. I've also heard that belly dancing is an awesome workout.

Super excited this morning....had my official weigh in at the gym last night. I'm down 5 pounds off of my gym weight from last week (fully clothed with shoes) and have officially broken 220! Hoping to do just as well this week on my eating and workouts so that scale moves some more next week!

Hope everyone has been having a good week!

We have two girls at the Bank that do the pole dancing classes. I'm not sure if it was for the workout, for seducing their husbands or as training for a backup career..but it works!
If you want to see how its really done, youtube Jenyne Butterfly. Its not dirty, just an incredible athlete.

Pole dancing can be bruising and dangerous if you try the wrong move and come crashing down on your head!

Clearly you've never stepped on the edge of someone's dress and have her fall over. True, you don't get injured from the fall, but when she gets up, you better have a head start or she's going to pummel you!

Be sure to stretch and drink extra water today Loralie. It will help with the soreness.

So, you're going for hourglass weight loss? smile LOL

I ran into the front of the treadmill twice yesterday. I was staring through the glass wall of the gym out at farm fields and listening to music, and I guess my pace got faster than the treadmill. I guess that better than getting tossed off the back.

I saw a program on public television with a Dr. Fuhrman(?). He has a book called 3 ways to improve your life (or something like that) and it basically boils down to eating a lot more veggies, fruits and nuts and less meat, dairy, carbs, etc. It was a well presented common sense approach to better health. I started eating salads at lunch and am trying to stay away from the cakes, cookies, etc that I personally think should be one of the four basic food groups LOL. Just by watching what you eat you will loose weight and start to feel better. A friend of ours was grossly overweight, bad knees, bad back and pre-diabetic. He changed his diet, lost about 100 pounds and now walks several miles a day and recently started lifting weights. Did I mention he will be 60 this year? As everyone has mentioned, do not think of it as a diet but rather a lifestyle change for a healthier better you.
Best of luck on your journey - I have confidence that you can do it!

A week from today is my ASVAB & Physical for the Air Force- and since i've started working out and eating a little healthier (and lowering my soda intake) in an attempt to get ready for MEPS- I've lost 7 lbs. smile super excited!
