in this area, it's a little early, but then they get out mid to late may instead of mid june. and i'm driving my sister to move in to college tomorrow. i get rid of them both at once! i don't know what to do with myself!!!! oh yea, work.

I can't wait for school to start. Everyone is telling me that High Maintenance is going to have a hard time adjusting to having to listen to someone and follow directions. I can't wait to sit back and watch. . . . and am fully prepared to hang out with the principal a few time during the year.

When my kids were in school, we went every year to meet with the teachers, with Thing 1 and Thing 2 in tow. They would would witness as I gave each teacher my business card with their names on the back along with my cell phone (after we got cell phones), and as I explained that if they ever had a problem that they did not feel the school's policies would allow them to adequately solve, they could give me a call and I would leave my office and come solve the problem for them.  The girls learned to listen well in class and I am quite proud to say that both were 4.0 students.

I hate it when school starts. I live right by a high school and work across the street from a middle school. The nice, easy commute of July and August turns into ^&*%$# when September comes.

Thanks, but I always just felt like when you chose to be a parent, you chose to be involved and your kids need to know that you want to be. It makes them actually feel safer because they know where all the boundaries are. So the behave better and achieve more. Not that my kids are perfect nor were we as parents. But we all kept trying.
