I did some of the challenge between racquetball games last night. Let me recommend that you do burpees first, squats later. I did pushups and squats first and my burpees sucked. eek
The jumping jacks arent very hard but they will wake your calves after 100 or so. I might add somne weigths to those too (weighted squats too).
This is actually kinda fun. smile

Hooorah!

I actually kept up with mine over the weekend, made today much more tolerable. On the bright side, I've done over double of the number of pushups that had to be done for the month for the work challenge, just in the first week. laugh

I'm only on course to complete three of the necessary five though, so I suppose I'll have to try a little harder to actually do some of the other exercises wink

Man oh man have I fallen behind on the pushup challenge eek . I'm on bed rest, absolutely no weight bearing at all on my left leg. Knee surgery was much more extensive than originally thought (damage was much worse when he got in there). Microfracture surgery turned my kneecap into swiss cheese, cartilage biopsy (and they're growing more cartilage in a petri dish to reimplant later), cleaned out all the blood and scar tissue, and repaired the meniscus. Surgery was 3/20 and I'm still not back to work; I've been having some minor complications. Physical therapy is kicking my butt, even though it's all passive at this point. Hoping to go back to work at least part time later this week. I miss all my BOL buddies. Please send good thoughts/prayers for my recovery. Thanks!

Push-ups smush-ups! Relax, follow orders, read girly vampire books (or whatever it is you fancy), and heal up! Once you get through this all, it'll be much better than before and then you can focus on rebuilding.

I wonder if they would grow me some more muscle in a petri dish and attach it later! That's intriguing, but probably a very expensive way to get stronger laugh

Mulberry's knee surger = eek eek eek

Yikes!

I think today has been the first time in a week I've done the requisite number of pushups. I did a couple extra for good measure and Lord knows what crazy stuff the instructor will have us doing in Insanity after work (squats/drop/pushups, plank/pushups, burpee/pushup/power jumps). I really detest the power moves at the end of the three blocks eek

Running and riding everywhere ...
Last night at the end of my strength round at the trainer he added in something "new". That's always scary. 10 minutes total...20 seconds each:

rope swings (the huge giant 30 ft tow ropes the size of my arm)
kettle bell swings
walk (aka...hands on knees gasping for air while they tell me to walk)

Thankfully I had a 7 mile run today, or he was going to make me do it for 45 minutes (which I am not sure is humanly possible for me).

Swing is not a correct description...rope waves would be better.

I just read the whole article:

Along with increasing your strength, power and endurance, the constant motion of rope battling will floor you with a muscle-toning, metabolic workout unlike any other. You’ll be shocked at how fast a few quick whips can get you to your maximum heart rate.

Um...no $H!T Sherlock. Thought I was going to die. It could also play into why I'm starving to death today.

That's sadistic. Rotator cuff or similar issues sounds immenient. It would at least seem the lenght of rope may need adjusting for a woman...or even for any beginner doing this.

(I haven't attempted the link just basing it off of your insert).

I survived 10 minutes (technically 10 20 second intervals of it) after push ups, two kinds of dead lifts, chin ups, weighted squats and such. My "waves" were much smaller on the last few intervals, but I was still averaging about the same number. I do not think I would have made it 45. I think he's crazy...

...or maybe I am. They keep telling me this will make me a better runner.

Jen is no typical woman. She's no typical person!

Also, her max heart-rate rivals that of a hummingbird I'm pretty sure, so I can only imagine how crazy that must've been!

Dang...that would be an excellent core workout.

I clicked on the link and now I'm compelled to buy razors and shave my body hair.

My max HR is kind of high and my resting HR is stupid low.
