Anybody know what Jason Collins is doing right now? I'm gonna say no, as the ESPN interview I saw of him Saturday only discussed Sam, with no mention of the NBA Playoffs.

I thought ESPN did Michael Sam a dis-service this weekend. The reaction from the gay sports bar in LA made no sense to me. NFL teams in general hate distractions, and much like Tebow-mania, I'm afraid the ESPN's of the world are going to make him into a huge distraction. Yeah, but people will quickly move onto the next media fixation. Anybody know what Jason Collins is doing right now? Have you ever seen pictures of Jason Collins kissing his boyfriend? Or see him tied to a gay bar? Michael Sam may have never stepped foot in a bar in his life. They are setting him up to fail. Tebow-mania didn't go away until Tebow went away.

heard a funny piece on the radio this monring where a Dad was explaining to his son about Sam being drafted and did the kid know who that was...the son starts asking about various charges filed against current players (is that the guy that beat his girlfriend, was arrested with illegal assualt rifles, who was arrested with stolen goods, etc), and each one the dad says "no, that's so and so of X team". At the end the dad says he is the first openly gay player drafted and the kid says "and why is this news?"

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10920853/johnny-manziel-cleveland-browns-nfl-top-selling-jerseyAt a $180 a pop! Johnny Football is now Johnny Cash! The league wouldn't say how many Manziel jerseys were sold, but it did say that the official website store sold nearly as many Manziel jerseys across draft weekend, from Thursday to Sunday, as it sold Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck and Tim Tebow jerseys during their draft weekends combined.

maybe not directly, but at least now he can get paid for his autograph (or at least be open about getting paid). And the sweet sweet endorsement money.
That's what I dont get about the NCAA. They could take the heat off themselves AND keep their 100% share of the money by just letting the players make endorsement money. Wouldn't cost the NCAA a thing, and the push for playing players would be a lot less intense if people saw the players making bank from Gatorade/Nike/Shady Booster X.

of which Mr. Manziel/Football gets a big whopping $0... Well maybe he could sign thousands of them for free too.

Welp, it's going to be harder for Manziel next year. Looks like Josh Gordon is going to be suspended for the year for a postiive marijuana test.
I dont think the NFL should even test for pot, much less suspend guys for a season for it. That being said, they do, everyone knows they do and Josh Gordon is an idiot.

Seems to me like a set up for disaster if they start Manziel in his first year (even if he is good enough, but lets not have that debate)

I thought I heard Hoyer is the starter unless Manziel beats him out in camp. Probably not that hard to do.

He could have learned a lot from Vince Young.

Read where the Clowns owner told Johnny to start acting like #2. Does that mean the owner thinks Johnny is a piece of *$#%?
I think Hoyer is a decent QB, if he can stay healthy. Yeah, Gordon is an idiot, he had already been caught once, which makes his chance of being tested again higher.

if you want a humble, quiet, respectful QB, why did you draft Manziel?

if you want a humble, quiet, respectful QB, why did you draft Manziel? Cause a homeless man told him that is who he should pick

There were reports that Cleveland was going to draft Bridgewater, who a 100k analytics study they comissioned said was the best choice, but at the last minute (literally, the last 60 seconds) they changed their mind to Manziel.
Cleveland denies it, but the way Haslem runs the team makes it at least plausible.

I think it is more about putting people in the stands and getting press coverage in the short term than about wining games.
