Does anyone know who gave the pictures to TMZ? The mom? The doctor?

TMZ appears to be the most powerful news source out there. They seem to get the scoop on a lot of this stuff.
Their show is also kind of funny (specifically the announcer guy)

The NY Daily News reports that AP will still get paid his 11.75 million this year whether or not he plays.
What do I have to do to get suspended with pay?

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...tment-in-texas/I believe that Adrian Peterson himself, in so many words, admits that he went too far. I don't question his freedom to discipline his child (or anyone for that matter) but when I saw those pictures, my heart broke.

Does anyone know who gave the pictures to TMZ? The mom? The doctor? If Mother...then she is speaking out of both sides of her mouth. if Dr...Then we have HIPPA issues.

MB, you and Sox both state parts of this that I haven't come across even though I think I've done a fair amount of reading on the topic. Which leads me to believe that media spin, hype and flat out lying is entwined in this story to no small degree. How do we KNOW the things that are being claimed as fact? We all know that pictures can be altered too. I personally know of two instances where doctors reported parents for what turned out to be true accidents.
I think it's time for me to take my OPINION and sit back and wait for the court system to do their job. Do I think that even then we'll know the TRUTH of this matter? no. Most of the local tv and radio stations here in the Twin Cities have been able to obtain the police report from the incident. The pictures released are part of that report from my understanding. At least one local radio station has read details from the police report, which Mr. Peterson has said he does not dispute.

and baby momma 2 has now come out and said he abused their child as well, along the same lines...no idea if any proof was offered or this is just a money grab by her...
i still haven't seen an official announcement by the NFL that he is suspended, just the Vikings say they suspended im. Has the NFL done ths?
amazing how quickly the vikings changed their tune when threats of sponsors leaving were made...suddenly, he went from being an accused person who deserved his day in court to a pariah that should be tarred and feathered or worse

It's all about the money. Same thing with Rice. Goodell was perfectly happy to suspend him for 2 games until the video came out and the public got angry. Sounds to me like the NFL needs better policies and procedures to deal with these types of legal/PR issues.

The Vikings placed him on the Exempt list which means basically he has been placed on paid leave. However, the team and the league, per CBA rules, can only place a player on that list for up to 4 games unless the player agrees to voluntarily stay on leave longer than that. The NFL also has to give permission to place a player on that list.

I feel all athletes are grossly overpaid, and it has turned sports into a vicious world. No one is worth the kind of money that they are paid.

I heard on TV at lunch that a Senator is threatening to revoke the NFL's tax exempt status. The NFL is tax exempt? Surely not the individual teams. I need to read more about this, but anything sports related is blocked at work.

Probably meant their Anti Trust exemption...that always comes up when a professional sports league is in hot water-I think it happened back in 2005 when the MLB clowns testified in front of Congress regarding steroids.

No, the league is tax exempt because, in theory and legally, it is a trade organization that promotes football in general. individual teams are not. The anti-trust only applies to baseball. unless/until some NFL lawyer or lobbyist can find a way to steal it. The NFL is able to get away with the stuff it does because the players union collectiely bargains stuff away. it's a really weird situation because during the last lockout one of the ideas was that the players would be better off just disbanding the union altogether and forcing the teams to operate like other businessess. But the owners actually want their employees unionized because then they get to do more stuff they normally wouldn't (salary cap, draft, rookie contracts). I feel all athletes are grossly overpaid, and it has turned sports into a vicious world. No one is worth the kind of money that they are paid. maybe, but if they weren't paid as much that money would just go to the owners. And it's not like they're not a shady, borderline evil group.

The NFL is the governing body and handles discipline in such situations. I believe this is part of the CBA between the NFL and the NFLPA. Short of cutting Mr. Peterson, the Vikings have done all that they are allowed to do without guidance and approval from the league.

So latest developments -- Goodell gives panned press conference where he says nothing. ESPN immediately after releases report that Ravens lobbied for lighter punishment/made ray rice offer to work in organization.
Bill Simmons calls Goodell out on his podcast, is suspended by ESPN for 3 weeks.
And South Parks starts its season by mocking the Washington Redskins/NFL

I would question the accuracy of that statistic.
