My sod is showing up today!

Thirty-four years ago today I started my first banking job. I have mixed feelings about that.

I am however, glad to still be working. I was temporarily unemployed when my last bank was bought out. I was kept on through the merger, and then had three weeks off before finding and starting a new position. Same work, different bank. I was just starting to really enjoy unemployment. But I have a few more years to work.

Yesterday marked my 38th year in banking and I still have about 15 years to go. Hope you do not have as many. I have been with my present institution for 6.5 years and hope to retire from here, but if not I will be looking for other employment. I told myself when I left my previous job that I did not want to stay in banking, but it must be in my blood. I enjoy my job so that helps a lot.

I'm only in it for 5 years at the most, maybe as a few as three. Sometimes compliance gets tedious, but I really like the people I work with, some of whom I've known for many years. While waiting for my termination date at my last job, I applied for a few jobs outside of banking, including BSA director at a casino and finance director of a not-for-profit.

Next week will mark 24 years for me, and math for normal retirement would say I have another 27 more to go.

I am aiming for hopefully only 12-15 more. ::fingers crossed::

Last December was 37 years for me. I hope to be out of here in about 4, but we'll see. Husband just retired after 43 years in banking; however I'm several years younger than he is.

we have a lady celebrating her 49th anniversary today...some people don't know when it is time to go home...

i'll be out first day I can collect my full pension, which is another 14 years...ugh, that is ugly just to look at...but I also started at 19 while attending college, so i'll be dang close to 48 years when I go...

I hit the 40-year mark last October, with no end in sight right now.

Just great - one of my co-workers was just diagnosed with the flu. Isn't it a little late in the year for that?

I just gave a lender a couple of options on how to handle a BSA issue ... and she made the "right" one. Maybe there is hope ....

Don't know Bacon Boy, but I'm sad the series is over. They did end it fairly well, though.

So - has anyone else been watching the National Geographic series, Genius? This season is about Albert Einstein and we really like it. They have renewed it for season 2 and apparently will announce the subject during the last episode (10 in all) this season. It's directed by Ron Howard.
