I probably can't convey this properly with the written word, but the way that some folks pronounce words that end in an "en" sound....like "kitten". Instead of saying it normally, they really stress and pronounce hard the "en" part and it is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Instead of saying "kittun"....it's like they're breaking it up into two words...."kitt-EN". Hate it.

There's a really good turf sire named "Kitten's Joy" and when some of the folks on the horse racing channel talk about him, i cringe every time....."another turf winner out of kitt-EN's joy".

We have a female DJ here that enunciates that way...she also says "particularly' in a VERY odd way, among many other odd ways words come out of her mouth.
