Wasn't aware of this loss until today. George Martin, the producer of the Beatles. A case of being given lemons and making lemonade if there ever was one. I still love spinning their albums but the best of the Beatles probably should be attributed to Martin.

Didn't realize that Martin was born in the same year as my dad.

Looking at his pics, I thought at first that he must have suffered a cardiac event, but I see from the news it was cancer.

I would edit the post, but the wonderful programmers at BOL still haven't fixed that issue.

Joe Garagiola, Cardinal catcher and broadcaster, age 90. He once said, "Not only was I not the best catcher in the Majors, I wasn't even the best catcher on my block." The other catcher from their block on The Hill was Yogi Berra.

Will Smith. I work in the city he grew up in and yesterday was surely a very sad day here. He gave so much back to this community, he was actually scheduled to be in town this week for a fund raiser. Very sad.

I met him back in 2002. He visited our church, spent some time playing basketball with my son. He was very polite and a pleasure to meet.

Sad day when we got the news frown
