You know, the saddest thing to me about all of the stuff this country is going through is the face that our national pasttime has become villainizing and hating people we don't agree with....dehumanizing them even. Really, really sad. And we seem to want to think that in that environment, jokes in really bad taste are fine and reactions to them just show how much more we should hate "those guys".

someone told me yesterday they deleted everyone on facebook that doesn't agree with them. i simply replied what a sad, small world you will now live in, because we grow from differing opinions. and they looked at me in utter confusion...

Exactly.....like whether you hate Biden or hate Trump.....actively WANTING them to fail is just...dumbfounding. Like...you do realize if they're really awful at their job, it hurts you and me right?

A friend of mine has a great quote that often applies - "Common sense would be common if everyone had it."

Agree with everything!

IMHO, one of the best shows ever for breaking down prejudices "All in the Family" would survive 10 minutes on TV now because it offends someone.

One of my husband's favorite shows! And we've had that same conversation...it just wouldn't make it in today's world. People need to learn to laugh at each other and not be so serious!

There is so much hatred in the country and it's available to see because of all the information we have at our fingertips 24/7. Sometimes I just have to put my phone down and quit looking at FB & Twitter...

I have many friends who did not vote the way I did (and many that did). I'm a bowler, so there have been many nights at bowling where me and a teammate will have a pretty heated conversation....and guess what! We always end it laughing at each other and having a good time bowling together. We know we disagree and have different opinions but we still love each other!
