I can't get my son to commit to pretty much anything until, oh, maybe 18 minutes prior to departure, but i'm contemplating a trip to Nashville with him. He's about to graduate and wants to start his career as a musician, so i thought Nashville made a lot of sense for a place for us to go. (If anybody has any good thoughts/things to know about Nashville, i'm all ears.)

Going to Norway and France in July Heading there with my mom, grandma, aunt, and two cousins. My grandma's ancestors were from Oslo, so we're going there as well as Bergen and Balestrand. Then, we'll spend 6 days in Paris. Can't wait!!

I'm going to Yellowstone for a family reunion. Even though I only live a few hours away, I haven't been in probably 20 years.

Myrtle Beach in June. Not the most original vacation destination, but my wife is a beach fanatic.

We're taking a Danube river cruise in July to celebrate 25 years of marriage. We've wanted to for years and decided now was the time.

Y'all have some fantastic sounding vacations planned.
We're going on a Royal Caribbean cruise on the Oasis of the Seas for my wife's 40th and our future son-in-law's 21st bdays. The ship is supposed to be phenomenal and we're going to St Thomas (which we love), Nassau (meh) and St Maarten (never been) so we're excited for that. And based on the year we've had, this is a welcome vacation.

(If anybody has any good thoughts/things to know about Nashville, i'm all ears.) Consider going to the ABA Compliance Conference since it's in Nashville this year, and take your son along. If he decides 18 minutes before it's time to go something better came up no harm done, plus most of your expenses would be paid. Only been to Nashville once and it was a vendor event; did get to see the Grand Ole Opry and a famous saloon but not much else. Lovely city. As for me I'll be headed to the Outer Banks again in September. This year has been brutal, I just want to hear ocean waves and not much else.

I'm going to San Diego for a week at the end of May, and then we're going on a Royal Caribbean cruise on the Oasis of the Seas in October. Although, my all-time favorite trip so far was spending nine days in Israel in February.

I work just south of Nashville in Franklin, TN. Franklin has a lot of history, a quaint downtown with lots of shops and restaurants, and Civil War sites.
Probably no vacation again this year for us. Since we moved to a tiny town we don't have dog sitters - and ours wouldn't do well at a kennel. Even if they would, we would have to drive over 20 miles to find one.

We are going to cruise Hawaii at the end of May for family vacation/ the oldest son's senior trip. Super excited! raitch--Nashville is a cool town, but be warned, the traffic is HORRENDOUS! Lots to do. If you are a history buff, I definitely recommend visiting the Hermitage (Andrew Jackson's home). Lots of great music in downtown. Several national parks within driving distance if you like outdoorsy stuff. And there's always a quick jaunt down to the Scenic City (Chattanooga) for Ruby Falls, the Incline Railroad, etc.

Thanks Dani and Skittles--i should stress even harder....this trip is quite tentative at this stage, but hopefully we'll go. I was told about the traffic, but was told they have a good mass transit system, which i would very much want to use.

Mass transit? There are buses, but I'm unfamiliar with anything else. NOTE: I rarely go to Nashville and the traffic is really bad. I drive 50 miles to work and a co-worker drives about 20-25 - and I can get there quicker because she has to drive through Nashville and I don't.
