I have filled out 3 different NCAA brackets. The 1st two I took pains and tried to make an effort to pick the right upsets, and the close games, and all the ins and outs. This year's tournament is going to be crazy, I think. Most are anyway, right? But I just don't see any one particular team that is truly a cut above the rest of the competition.

So my third bracket is almost completely random (literally). I gave all 1 and 2 seeds a first round win. For every other game I decide the outcome by coin flip, and not a "Siri" or "Hey Google" coin flip. Sadly, I don't think the results were horribly outlandish. I was hoping to end up with maybe a 12 or 14 seed champion - but the coin results say Tennessee beats Minnesota in the championship. Rounding out the final four is Marquette and Washington.

I'm genuinely curious to see how this works out.

I'm from Peoria, IL and a Bradley grad and you better believe I have Bradley beating Duke in the elite 8 and going on to win it all over UNC.

As a fan in Big 12 country, my main angle in filling out my bracket this year was being anti-Big 12.....wasn't very impressed with the quality this year.....and by that i mean, i don't see any elite or near-elite teams at all in the Big 12....it's a pretty deep conference...but deep in the sense of *pretty* good teams.....

I have Texas Tech and Kansas getting beat in the 1st round (huge upsets)....if either/both of them happen, i'm in good shape.

I am a Golden Gopher fan, but there is NO WAY they get to the Final Four this year. Tennessee could get there if things go their way because they have decent talent but I would not risk any serious cash on your coin flip bracket.

But I agree, that one will be interesting to watch.

I was actually disappointed with the coin flip results. I was actually hoping for maybe a 12 or 14 in the Final Four - maybe even a championship! HAHAHA.

The sad part is, other than just a few wowzers, I don't think the results of the bracket are horrendously outlandish. FYI - Northern KY (14 seed) is in the Elite 8. Liberty (12 seed), UC Irvine (13 seed), and Northwestern (13 seed) are in the Sweet 16.

I have Northern Kentucky going to the sweet 16.

The Coin Flip Bracket has already lost 9 total games. 3 Sweet 16 teams (Old Dominion, Northwestern, and Marquette), and a final four team (Marquette).

In other words it is working like a normally selected bracket.

Pretty much - but at least I'm beating the coin flip at the moment!

In case anyone is curious, the Coin Flip bracket is all but finished.

Only 3 Elite teams still in play (Virginia, Tennessee, and Duke), and only 1 Final Four (Tennessee). It has only 5 teams in the Sweet 16 (VA, TN, Duke, KY, and Gonzaga). At best, it can win 6 more games.

And so the saga of the Coin Flip bracket comes to an end. A chance at 1 more win. Duke. According to the bracket, Duke wins tonight but loses in the Elite 8. So regardless of anything else - tonight ends the Coin Flip.

I agree with one of the commenters, it appears the media often posts stories like this to stir the pot.
Our local news outlet does this quite often with stories that really have no value (like this one) just to get the masses to respond.
