Vanessa Marquez, actress - age 49
I didn't recognize the name until I read the story, but she had a recurring role as a nurse on ER for a few seasons. Apparently the police were performing a welfare check and it went tragically wrong.

Dorcas Reilly, Campbell's Test Kitchen - age 92
Dorcas was the lead on the team that created the green bean casserole recipe that appeared on the cream of mushroom soup can. Her recipe card for the dish was presented to the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2002.

Anything with cream of mushroom soup in it is gross.

there should be a Mt. Rushmore of food pioneers;
1) the person who invented bacon (but not turkey bacon) 2) the person who first decided to wrap something in bacon (unless it was vegetables because that's just a waste of bacon) 3) the person who first decided to use bacon as an ingredient (such as adding it to deviled eggs, stuffed chicken breasts, etc.) 4) Kevin Bacon

We need a "but not turkey sausage" addendum too please....really ticks me off when someone offers sausage and come to find out, it's turkey sausage. Blech.
I haven't had the turkey bacon experience and hopefully never will.

I haven't had the turkey bacon experience and hopefully never will. Turkey and chicken sausages can be really good. Turkey bacon is just garbage.

Dorcas Reilly, Campbell's Test Kitchen - age 92 What ever happened to the name Dorcas? That should make a comeback.

I can think of one reason. As that young lady made her way through the American education system, there would be bullies who shortened her name (and no doubt would substitute that name often). In my own experience, my first name wasn't shortened, it just rhymed too easily with a mucous-like substance.

Never heard that name before. My last name was turned into all sorts of things...most of them non-offensive I've had turkey bacon...it wasn't that bad.

Never had turkey sausage to my knowledge...I would think the texture would be horrid.
