YEA!!!!!!! Childrens and Northwestern are both very, very good hospitals. I live in the Chicao area, let me know if I can help with anything, I mean anything.

Thanks. I just may take you up on that.

The bear's transplant surgeon (at CMH) is in the top 5 pediatric transplant surgeons! (Notice I did not limit it to the USA) I lovingly refer to him as a "mad scientist."

A few of you have asked...so rather than sending lots of PMs...I have nothing to update. The last that I heard from the hospital was on Tuesday, and that was that the transplant will take place sometime within the next month. (I'm not sure if that means sometime in January of sometime between now and Feb 11.)

As I understand it, there is a March 1 deadline for bankers wishing to donate organs from last year, so don't let it go too long

LMP, MNB, whatever we are going to call you (besides your daughters angel), we will all be praying from now until you log in and tell us you have both recovered.

PS: At least you made the March 1 deadline!

That's great news! Now stop snacking on butterflies at least by midnight of the 3rd! Seriously, you are both in my prayers, and the jacket is in the works....the embroidery part is taking longer than expected.

I'm glad you have a date, even if it is tentative, not knowing is so hard to live with. Daily good thoughts coming your way between now and your first posting after the surgery. Remember, I live near by and can help if you want or need it.

Here's something that I just learned...The butterfly, a symbol of change, new life and hope, is often associated with organ donation. Too cool!

I may be rambling here, but my 97 year old great grandma has always been obsessed with butterflies (she always wears a pin of one on her shoulder). I feel like life has come full circle. God is good.

CHANGE IN PLANS...

I just heard from Northwestern, the surgery is now Wednesday Feb. 2. I have to go Tuesday Feb. 1 to have more blood work, and EKG, and a chest X-Ray. My surgery will start at approx. 6 am on that Wednesday, Natalie's will start at approx 11am.

Phew...so nervous...

Take a deep breath and know that everything will work out perfectly. How could it be any other way with all of us here praying for you and your daughter?

Mom, this might be a good time to recognize that this is something over which you have no control. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and repeat, "I won't kill the surgeon till AFTER the surgery... I won't kill the surgeon..."

Remember the end result - a healthy life for your little Bear. That should make it easier.

Prayers for you daily for weeks to come. Peace.

A call to your doctor may help solidify a date. It's really not fair of them to keep switching back and forth and it's probably just a receptionist or nurse who's doing it, not the surgeon. Your doctor can get them to settle on a date and mark it in ink for you!

Many prayers from cheeseland for you and the little bear.

Continued thoughts & prayers from MN!! Hopefully they'll settle on a date soon. If we're on pins & needles, I can't imagine what you are!
