Hardy har, har. It's like a used car. It's new to her! And it will be 28 years old next month.

Yeah, well I was 12 when my daughter was born.

Natalie is in the PICU.

I am taking a short break to post. Jason is on his way. He was going to work this weekend since we thought that this would be a simple procedure and outpatient.

The procedure (cholangiogram and biopsy) went well and her doctors said that they had good and bad news.

~Good- her liver numbers went up because of bile backing up at the point where the main bile duct connected to the intestine and not due to rejection.

~Bad - they had to put in a new PTC tube.

I thought all was well as I went to see Natalie in recovery. But she wasn't herself. She was running a fever near 103 and was VERY lethargic (similar to how she was in November 2004) and puking. Doctors said that she is septic. (Bile got into her blood stream - this can happen)

She's getting 3 antibiotics and an antifungal, and that's all I know for now.

Becca, I am so sorry to hear the bear has had another set back. Give her a hug and kiss for me and tell her BOL Aunt KC is thinking of her. You and Jason give each other a hug too. That's from me too.

Tears... Oh Becca, Hang in there, and kiss that sweet little one on the forehead for me. I am so glad that you and Jason are strong and able to be there for each other. I hit my knees when I read your post, and know that I won't ever stop praying for you and your family. Here in OK there is a commercial for the OK Blood Institute with a little girl who appears to be 5-6. It says her life was saved when she had a liver transplant before she was a year old. I think of Natalie every time I see that commercial. Stay strong, and know that I'm thinking of you guys.

We are on 6 west now (out of the PICU - Pediatric ICU).

We moved here yesterday afternoon, following Natalie's eating a Happy Meal in the PICU. She had a rough night last night, due mostly to the amount of meds that she is on and the frequent visits by the nurse to administer those meds.

She got up this morning (nurse accidentaly woke her up - when she came to draw labs) and ate a little breakfast and watched the Wiggles. Then she went right back to bed.

She hasn't been able to - nor has she wanted to- walk much, and I hope that she doesn't forget what she just learned.

It's been a rough couple of days and to those of you that have reached out to us, thank you.

Still here praying and thinking good thoughts. Thanks for the update.

Oh, Becca, I'm so sorry for the set back. I continue to pray for you, Jason and Natalie. But don't worry about the walking, she will be running all over the place before you know it.

Becca, relax and remember that this is just another little hill on the roller coaster you are on. She'll be fine, and this is just a minor setback. God will give you the strength to carry on, and will give her the strength to keep growing and conquer anything He throws at her.

I've been on vacation and didn't have access to a computer to check on Natalie till today. I am so sorry to hear about the set back, continued prayers from me.

More prayers are coming from Oklahoma. deppfan--I also think of NatalieBear when I see the little girl on tv dressed as a sunflower gathering people for blood donations. Pretty soon it will be Nataliebear doing the commercial!!

I just read the update on Da Bear's website. Let the roller coaster continue! Great news on the lack of rejection to counter the bad news on the going septic.
