Cookbook

If this doesn't work, click on the paypal box on the bottom of the cover of the book on the website.

When you click from her website you will be in paypal, but there will be a line item where you can enter how many of Nataliebear's Nummies you want. I think with my link above, you need to sign in to your paypal account first. Sorry I am not much help.

All over the map.
I wish that I had been able to be personally involved with her wish. I am hoping to get lots of photos to forward on to the National Office. I'm going to meet David Williams, the President and CEO in December, and I would love to hand him the pictures and tell him just how much joy this particular Wish brought to Natalie and family. I know she will have a blast!

If you haven't ordered your cookbook(s) yet, please do! I'd love to have Becca's mailbox overflowing with cookbook orders when they get back from Orlando. It'll give them one less thing to fret about as Natalie faces her second transplant...hopefully soon.

Is she trying to catch snowflakes? Whatever it is, I've got tears...I've got goosebumps...and I'm smiling from ear to ear.

And to think our own deppfan is now part of the wonderful organization that made this happen for the Bear!

What a bright ray of sunshine on an otherwise dreary Monday.

Oh Becca...I have happy tears! Please send me a photo CD from your trip so I can take it to National! I will personally thank David Williams for you. She is such a beautiful little girl, and I think you are so right about the timing of the trip.

Clinic update...
We had clinic yesterday and all was well.
Natalie's labs look fantastic!! Just beautiful. It is hard to believe that with them looking this good, that we are re-listed for another transplant.

But she can't live forever with the tube in. She needs to bathe like all the other kids, and be able to swim. She needs to learn to pull up and down her pants, without worrying about yanking the tube out of place, or worse out completely.

She needs to not have a continuous open sore on her tummy.

And so, even with perfect liver labs, she needs a new liver. A liver that will drain bile on its own, that will create healthy non-clumpy bile. A liver that will let her live.

This liver was perfect. Then her hepatic artery clotted, damaging part of it. It can't be helped.

But still, her team doesn't want to see her for 2 months in clinic!! Which really does mean that the tube is doing wonderful things, again. We will go back probably before then for a tube squirt - just to make sure that it is still in place. I don't want to jinx anything...but for right now...things are good.

And 7-12 inches of "snowy" is falling right now!!! I'll post pictures later on her website...

Becca - thanks for the update and I'm glad everything sounds good. I am constantly praying that you find the right liver for Natalie.

What a wonderful note to dive into the holiday season on!

I, for one, was thrilled to hear about that group of six patients and their donors that were able to make the best matches by switching who got the transplants from whom. (I tried to find the story to link it but couldn't. Hopefully you all remember this from the news a week or two ago.) This has got to make a new liver for the Bear, and everyone else on transplant lists, seem just that much more accessible.

Happy Holidays to the Bear and her mommy and daddy.
And thanks to all my fellow BOLers for helping make their cookbook a sell-out!
