I go through phases, but I think I'm starting to want to date a little more now. Actually, I think I'd just like to start dating at all. I'm not looking for serious and its fun to get to know different people.

Doodle, it's not as much fun as it sounds. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure that Ang and I will each live a long, lonely life. She's too picky and I'm a big chicken. So, my advice is to not be too picky and don't be a big chicken.

Ok...so now I've got a problem...

To preface this, I pretty much had a girlfriend for the past 5 years up til about September. I've been playing the field (if that's what you wanna call it) since then.

Well I've been thinking lately that being a player isn't for me and I'd like to settle down and just have a girlfriend or whatever (one girl is enough, much less numerous!). I just met a girl on the 18th and we hit it off and she REALLY likes me. Last Saturday, a week into the relationship, I told her I wasn't really sure what I wanted from it and she got really upset. I just wanna slow things down right now and I don't think she wants to hear it. She basically wants to go from meeting a week ago to being boyfriend/girlfriend!

What should I say to her in terms of wanting to take things a little slower? I've never been in this situation. It's always been the other way around!

Well, it sounds like she did what I do and she was too emotionally slutty at once. She showed you all of her cards too early. I would prefer to have a guy say, "Look, I like you, but I want to slow things down and get to know you better and just date. Not as boyfriend/girlfriend, and that you're not saying that that will never happen, but just not at this time." Lay it all down for her. If she's not cool with that, there is another girl waiting for you. Like me, at the hotdog stand, HA!

And Fraud, you know I'm always lost when it comes to this stuff. As a matter of fact I need to talk tonight.

So, I went out with the guy with kids. We went to a concert on Friday night. It was a lot of fun, I didnt know any of the music as it was country, but it was still fun. We were going to meet afterwards at a little biker bar, but he didnt end up showing up. So I was a lot of bummed out and it turns out that the local police department told him that they would arrest him if he drove home and they drove him home instead. At first, I thought that sounded like BS because they dont do that around here.

THEN I almost died floating the Boise River on Sunday. I swear I think I should be wearing a helmet around everywhere. What a way to spend a birthday, drowning on the river. Hope everyone had a safer 4th than I did.

i was the token male and the youngest once, but six years later. i have converted the department into a male dominated department and i am one of the oldest. i recently split with a girl i had been with 5 years and i am freaked about how to meet new people. at this point everyone i know works at the bank.

anon above posting logged in. I am in OK. The thing that really sucks is that I really love the girl and we have a great kid but she wants to run around and be free. That is what happens when you date people 4 years younger than you.

Ok gang...I need a little emotional support! I'm almost at the end of my rope. (these are in no particular order)

#1 Both kids are broke out in a terrible rash (they came to me from thier dad's like that). The youngest has eczema and I've got Dr's appointments for them today. The conversation with thier father, to possibly find the trigger for the rash, turned into the normal..."you're a terrible parent and they need to come live with me"...not what I wanted to hear I just wanted to know if they're using a new soap or something.

#2 Mom's brother died yesterday. Service is Friday...my daughter's 11th birthday. (see #3) I don't plan to drive 11 hours to the service (even if it wasn't her birthday) and my family is mad at me.

#3 11 year old pre-teen hormones are raging, she's devastaded that everyone (really everyone but 2 people) have cancelled on us for the scheduled float trip on Friday. How do I fix this one???

#4 Current boyfriend of 11 weeks suddenly, without explanation, has pretty much decided there's no place for me in his life.

#5 I've got 5 audits that need to be finished yesterday.

I didn't list that the house is a wreck and the yard is worse, but I feel better now. I just needed to get it out. The usual..."I have two healthy great kids, a terrific home, loving family, good job, to be thankful for" really isn't working today.

OH MY HECK, okay so when I emailed you this morning and told you that I almost died, you should have told me to shut up. I want details, email me if you can!

Ummm...with the week I'm having and you putting a hole in your boat and almost killing yourself, I don't know that that would be the best idea we've ever had.

Okay you know, I've white water rafted so many times, and have never been hurt (knock on wood) but I get into a little one man boat and attempt to float a river and I almost drown myself.

Angie, aren't you a little concerned that the guy drank so much at the concert that he had to be driven home by the cops. And he was planning on meeting you at a bar to drink more. Geeeez, glad I don't live near there.

Yes, that was a thought that crossed my mind. He said something about wanting to get a job with a local title company so he can see me during the day. I'm kind of starting to get freaked out.
