Not to take the focus off the Pup, but what are the general opinions of dating someone who works for the same company? Not same department, or even inter-acting ones, but the same building nonetheless???

Well...I did this... one of the guys who worked in our IT department asked me out... at first I declined...he continued to ask...and with the encouragement of my co-workers ...I agreed to a lunch. From there we started having lunches more often and going to events in the surrounding areas of our home towns. However...I could tell after a few dates that we were not progressing and that I was just not as interested as he was. After he told me how he felt towards me and when he asked me where I saw us going as a future couple...I was honest...and let him know that I enjoyed his friendship but I didn't see us being anything more. Plus I live by this thought: "If you don't see it going anywhere serious... end it.. preserve your friendship.. but never mislead or hurt anyone just because you want to be with someone." Calling it quits is hard when you work together.. being you still have to see each other around work...and then your fellow co-workers asking about ya guys..etc. Maybe if I were more interested in him it would have been different. But we were just way too different with different goals and aspects on life. But in your case ya never know unless you try. Also.. don't forget to see what your handbook says about dating co-workers... don't want to risk losing your job for breaking the rules of the companny. Good Luck.

THE FOCUS WILL NEVER LEAVE THE PUP... ... hehehe....

This was me.. did not realize I was not signed in.. oops..

Too much drama involved with dating in the work place. That's my opinion.

The potential is there, of course. My issue is that I go to work, then go home. If I don't date someone at work (this is the first time) I don't date...ho hum

Well...that would be lots of us... work..work..work.. and then exhausted and headed home. But I know what you're going through. I work and then take a few night classes at a University...which leaves very little time if any to get out and mingle. My mother always teases...saying God will not send them through your roof or on your doorstep... you have to get out. She is so dead set on having grandchildren... LOL. Bless her little soul. LOL. And the egg aisle in the supermarket is not very promising either.. LOL.. good luck.

I know I'm not the only one in this boat, but I don't want to trade one issue (not have a date) for another (dating a co-worker)
Thanks for the input!

College is a good place to meet potential dates. Generally you can get to know someone while having study sessions and figure if they are worth your time. Plus they will probably understand a lot of your schedule issues because they have the same.

Thanks Ang.

I personally think BOL is a great place to find someone, when there are singles that are willing to admit it anyway.

Not when your a part time night student. Usually there is only like 15 of us max..in a class...and were mainly all female...with the exception of 1 or 2 men...so.. if your going the college way... attend morning and noon classes... hehehe...you'll have a bigger selection. LOL...

I'm a little old for college. At my age, that would be like dating my son. Ew! Don't mention the laundromat or the grocery store or the library. He must be able to afford his own washer/dryer, if he's at the store it's prabably for his wife (if she's not already with him) and last but not least, children wrapped around his legs, unless......I find him in the law section!!!! That might be a good one after all.

I would agree, except that the male/female ratio doesn't seem to work in our favor. And is it just me or do the guys tend to be a bit on the young side?

I'm on the young side, so that doesn't bother me. I do think there are a few on the (for lack of better word) mature side.

But this has always been the issue.. there are more females than males.. ... so does this mean some people are never meant to be married??

No. I beleive there is someone for everyone. Its just a matter of having faith that the someone will come along when the time is right. You should know that, Search. And I may be on the Mature side, but that just means I'm more experienced than others.

So, where exactly is the cut-off between "on the young side" and "mature, for lack of a better word"? I'm not sure where I fit in.

And, for the record, I rather enjoy the current ratio.

In nature one male frequently services multiple females. I think FP is up to the task.

Of course you enjoy the ratio it works in your favor. As far as age, the mature category concerns me. It makes me feel old- and I'm far from it. I guess on the young side would be early 20's. With the exception of FP (who seems quite busy), I thought most of the gentlemen in here were 22-24. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

True, but it rarely happens outside of birds. In fact, I can't think of any other mammal species that does it. Plus if you had to do the eagle mating dive I think you would mate for life too.

Heres another mammal that mates for life... coyotes...and the eagle dive.. pretty darn good...I think I'll make that a requirement... hehehe.. just teasing. Says something about the male eagle though...he really wants the female eagle...
