That's absurd. Sure confidence is a relative thing but every peer group I have been in has had males confident in their dealings with the opposite sex. Except the young of course.

Zguy, look at it from the other side and you might see what me and Ron are trying to say a little more. If you had the choice of dating an insecure girl who was only worried about what you think of her or a girl who was sure of herself and was ready to go out and have fun whether you like her or not, which one would you choose? Theres an extra edge that you get when you don't know if a person your attracted to is attracted to you, if you make it too clear to the other person that your doing nothing but trying to win them over then that edge is gone and usually their attraction goes away with it. Basically to sum up what im saying, the way youre going about getting a girl is logical, but attraction isnt... a girl doesnt meet a guy who seems nice and just decide that shes going to be attracted to him, its up to you to do that by keeping it interesting.
Since its been worded like that, yeah I can see you're guys' point. So now I gotta find my 'edge'

Ok this is going to be long but its great advice that I was once given myself because I was just like you, and its helped me a ton.
Well when you're with your guy friends I assume its not rare for you guys to poke fun at eachother often because your not afraid to laugh at eachother knowing that you wont be taken too seriously. Well just like how you have fun with the guys dont be afraid to poke fun at a girl your on a date with (granted making sure that your not going TOO far with it so that you look like an arrogant a-hole). Good looking girls KNOW that they are good looking and are used to guys chasing them around all the time with compliments etc, so to make yourself different you can kind of act like its her thats chasing you. An example would be making jokes when they say something that could be taken the wrong way as a sexual reference and respond with "Wow is sex all you think about? I'm not just a peice of meat, its going to take more than that for you to sleep with me". In my opinion the best stuff is taking everything they say the wrong way and jokingly accusing them of being gross or sickminded - but like I said you do have to make sure its balanced and not overly cocky. In the end you'll probably find that you're more relaxed and comfortable doing this as well, and that the conversations will flow alot better.

Oh and one thing to add, because I know it seems like I'm saying just to talk about sex the whole time, thats not what I mean at all, you can have conversations about anything that you would usually talk about and just keep throwing that stuff out there and make it seem like its HER trying to change the subject and not you lol. Also, I'm shy by nature myself so I know what its like to have trouble getting conversations started sometimes, but these things make it so much easier to keep it going once you get started and any time after you first break the ice.

So you are calling my statement absurd, then you agree with it? Or were you calling the initial joke about his height absurd? Or by saying except the young of course you were referring to the way 8 year olds deal with the opposite sex?

Great policy! Nevermind the other bases of my knowledge on the subject.

Actually, Ron.
I give you credit on this one. You're not just getting ticked with me. Which is good, because I'm not looking to do that. But, really. A photo of another guy to represent you? C'mon. That's like you telling someone the proper way to do decline bench press and you've an avatar of Richard Simmons.
But again...you impressed me.

It seems like everyone has advice on dating...yet how many are actually dating or married? I'm single and just checking who's giving the advice?

Well, he asked for some advice, so we dispensed some.
Oh. You didn't have to say you were single. I could tell.

That's a pretty sweet avatar Ron. It's usually the single people that give advice, and it's usually pretty good, but we dont take our own advice.
