If you guys are clicking, I think that's great. I've just seen too many people try to force something that really isn't there. I really hope that it all works out for you.

You're with me CG. I've learned from personal experience and the experiences of many friends and family members. Just relax and be yourself and it'll all work out.
Thanks for putting that song in my head now! LOL

ah, maybe I just took what you said the wrong way. I thought you were referring to people who date online as those who are trying too hard or trying to force things. My mistake! But I fully agree with you, too many people try to be something they are not in the beginning just to impress the other person instead of realizing that it is only going to work if they like the REAL you and you like the REAL them. I've been that guy in the past and tried to force things that weren't there just because I wanted to be with someone, and that was never going to get me anywhere.

ThePaul, I know a guy who ended up meeting his wife on one of these services. ... Well that had to have been embarrasing, did his wife know he was dating?

I know that we've talked about this before but I can't find the old thread. How does everyone feel about who drops the "L" word first? I'm trying really hard to wait for him so that it doesnt freak him out. On the other hand, I dont play games. Playing the who says it first game is stupid. Any thoughts?

If you both feel the same way, what's it matter who says it first.

Say what you're feeling, if you're not on the same page you'll know it. Be honest, that is always the best thing to do in a relationship. Why are you concerned about freaking him out?

I just need to stop trying to plan everything out. This is more just for conversation, it's a little slow in the branch today.

Ah yes, it was tough for me when I said that word to my wife for the first time.
I remember it well, we were at a movie and I said “would you like some of my licorice”.
That was a big step for me, I don’t share well with others. I get all misty eyed just thinking about it.
If you’re asking about the other “L” word, then I can’t help you out. I probably said that to my wife to make her move so I could see the t.v.
(I hope you know I’m just messing with ya)

Say what you're feeling, if you're not on the same page you'll know it. Be honest, that is always the best thing to do in a relationship. Why are you concerned about freaking him out? I agree. If saying "the L word" freaks him out, maybe he is not on the same page as you as far as what type of relationship you are looking for right now. If he is OK with it and doesn't freak out, even if he doesn't respond the same way at this point in time (which can be hard to deal with), it doesn't mean he won't get to that point. One of the things I learned from my last relationship is to communicate and be receptive for the other person to communicate.

That is such a cute idea. Even though me and my sweetie have been together for a while and we already say the "L" word, i think I will do this. Thanks Dip! Soooo cute!

Well, I'm not "ThePaul" but I'm out there on Match and a couple of others. I've kept it light and breezy, and have met some interesting people (to say the least), and a couple of potato-heads. I've had a good time. Had a first date this weekend with a local guy --- definitely a keeper! Fun, funny, intelligent, easy to be with, good conversationalist.... sounds like a winner to me. I will definitely see him again -- at least I hope to!
