I really really didn't like last night's theme. I almost turned off the show. Constantine and Vonzell did well, Bo, Carrie, Anwar, and Nikko were ok, Scott, Anthony, and Nadia were bad.

Who is Augustine? Do you mean Constantine? He was great last night and he's not a favorite of mine. The bottome 3 in my opinion were Scott, Anthony and Bo. Carrie was boring, Fonzall (sp) did great again. Nikko was ok, not great.

I really enjoyed Bo. He took a musical song and just made it his own. Was he ever meant to sing musicals? Hell no. Did he make the best of it? Hell yes.

I still don't "get" Bo. I have yet to hear him sing anything that makes me sit up and say "wow!"

I thought Nadia and Constantine were the best last night.

As far as Simon saying that it was the wrong theme....I don't agree with that. Part of being a true American Idol is the ability to adapt from what or who you are. There are enough songs from musicals that not one of them should have had a problem finding something to sing where they could show off their talent (or lack of it....)

Classic musicals, nothing modern that these people (other than Constantine) have ever heard of. They have less than a week to find the song and prepare the song. It's not like they can spend a few days trying to find a song they (and we) will like.

I posted, but don't know where it went. Here is my breakdown of last night:

Bo - hated it, and hated the outfit
Constantine - hate him hate him hate him - get over yourself loser
Nikko - unique style, average vocals
Scott - hate to admit, but he was not good last night
Anthony - should be booted tonight
Vonzell - good, not great
Carrie - thought she was very very good - I felt like I was watching a musical
Anwar - my least favorite to watch and listen to
Nadia - my favorite - I thought she was head and shoulders above everyone last night (except maybe Carrie)

Paula & Randy - you both are ridiculous. Randy needs to start giving real feedback instaed of "dudes" and "not feelin' ya" and Paula, why don't you just stand up the whole time - it will make i t easier for you to hump Constantine's leg!

I have been thinking the same thing this season. Paula hasn't said a negative thing yet, or NOT loved someone once. Randy doesn't give much feedback at all, just it was aaaight or I'm not feelin ya, or Dawg you brought it. Everyone is "pitchy", and that's about it. As for Simon, what kind of happy pills do they have him on? At least he gives criticism, but nothing they can really use to get better like in the past.

I did not think the choices of songs was very good. I think the musical director should have been allowed to give advice to them about which songs to sing. Telling them to pick from songs they have never heard made no sense to me.

OK, what songs would you have liked to have heard?

Which singers would you have liked to have heard sing the songs?

I think the judges are wearing out. They ought to mix it up with the judges. Add a new judge or something. Preferably, add someone who is a singing expert. We don't even have to know who they are. We didn't know Randy and Simon when this show started, did we?

For that matter, many didn't remember who Paula was either! The only problem is, they need a judge who will shoot straight and give good feedback. They tried last season with the guest judge thing and all they said was it was good... Noone really wanted to discount the American Idol judges....

Totally agree. And I have heard Paula's "Straight Up" more now than when she first released it!

I was wrong last week, but this week I really do think the botom 3 will be all guys. My guesses are Scott, Anthony, Anwar or Nikko. Constantine did good last night and Bo is too well liked. I'll be shoked if a girl gets in the bottom three this week.

The musical theme didn't really bring out their talents. I think Constantine did well, although he does love the camera. It is funny to watch him sometimes. I just like Bo's voice, and I think he does well each week. Vonzell is doing a great job. I've said this over and over, but I really think Anthony needs to be booted off. He doesn't have the level of talent the others have.

As for the judges, I have to agree with all of you there as well. Paula has to be on something. She rattles on and on and just loves everyone. They are there to give criticism when it is called for and she is not doing that. Not everyone sounds great all of the time.

I don't think any of them topped any of the others. None of them were fantastic. I agree with Simon as well, musicals was a bad choice for the group. I do think that Anthony may go home tonight.

I thought Constantine and Carrie did great with what they had to work with. I am thinking Nikko or Anthony will go tonight.

I'm putting my money on Nadia being the one to go. She has been in the bottom 3 for 2 weeks in a row, showing she doesn't have a strong "I like you anyway" base, and her performance was, in Randyspeak, Aiight.

Sounds like Carrie, my number one pick, did great. I'm bummed I wasn't home to watch it!....What song did she sing? I hope she never sees the bottom 3.

My opinion, and of course it is only an opinion. Carrie, Bo and Vonzell will be the last three. I love Carries' voice, she has a very good range. Bo's voice is hypnotic. I can listen to him all day long and I don't really like rock music. Vonzell nailed the Whitney Houston song. I was worried at first but she really pulled it off. Tonight, Scott or Anthony I think will be booted. Constantine did a good job last night, it was the best (to me) he has ever sounded. Of course, last night I could actually hear his vocal abilities. Nadia did bad, I think. It sounded like she forced a lot of the chords. My pick for winner is a tossup between Bo and Carrie. Has anyone else noticed that every elimination show, Bo and Carrie are always sitting by each other and Bo always puts his arm around her? Hmmmmm, interesting.

I saw somewhere (probably the grocery store) that Scott and Nadia have a thing for each other.

I guess just like I don't get what people see in Constantine, I also don't get what people don't see in Nadia. Granted, her past two weeks were average, but I just think she has it all; presence (the best of all of them), voice (maybe not the absolute best but right there with the best), looks - what am I not seeing that others don't like???

I like Nadia's personality and looks - she is definitely talented, however what I don't like in her and why she is not my favorite is because she seems to be trying too hard. Like it's not natural....I thought that of Vonzell at first but she seems to be improving in that regard. I also think that Anthony and Scott will be in the bottom 3 - who is the 3rd? Nadia has found herself there a couple times right?

Carrie sang "Hello Young Lovers" and she did it very very well. I was not impressed with her at all until last night! She was great.

I wanted Bo to sing the Last Supper lyrics from Jesus Christ Superstar. I love that soundtrack, and think he could have pulled it off. Do they have a limited list to chose from, or could they have chosen any musical? And how many of you would consider a rock opera a musical?

Anywhere but here
ok, avid AI follower here, but first time to this thread. I tried to skim most of the postings... why has no one mentioned that Scott has a great voice but just doesn't have the look? Unfortunately for him you have to be "attractive" to win these competitions. Am I wrong? I'm curious to hear what other people think about his "features"

UK - he is my favorite, and as far as his looks, I think he has a great look. Certainly no Brad Pitt-appeal, but he is unique. Ruben, Clay, Justin ... tell me any of those past winners or runner ups had the "look".

Scott (if he doesn't get booted tonight) just needs to unleash his voice - he is holding back - maybe nervous. I still would like him to sing gospel.
