Mmmmmmmm, caramel apples. We're going to state fair this weekend if the weather's nice. Rumors are they have deep fried twinkies and cheesecake on a stick.

It's not sweet, it's more like a torte or giant cheeseball. Same basic ingredients but omit the sugar and use a non-sweet crust. For the SW one, you add diced jalapenos and sharp cheddar when mixing the cream cheese and top w/chopped red, yellow & green peppers and olives. Crust is crushed tortilla chips. It's really good.

...and funnel cakes, and turkey legs, and big huge corn dogs, and kettle corn. Can't you just feel your arteries hardening?!?!

I LOVE KETTLE CORN!! Don't forget sausage on a stick and cotton candy and nachos and Cajun baskets of all varieties including gator.

Apples are like shrimp...

You can bake em, broil em, peel em, eat em raw, cook em in a...uh...pie , you can cover em in...uh...caramel , you can core em and pack em with raisins and cinimin....

Okay, maybe apples aren't like shrimp. But I like apples and my wife likes shrimp.

And you can eat apples with a fork!

Next week is the BIG festival in Southern Indiana where I live. Every year New Albany hosts the Harvest Homecoming. They block off about six streets downtown and have boothes for 4 days. They have any type of food you could possible want (including roasted almonds, elephant ears, etc.) and sell crafts. I'm looking forward to it especially since my bank is downtown in the middle of it.

If it's artery hardening you're after, make your way to a North Jersey beefsteak. Fresh Italian bread dripping with butter topped by slabs of slow-cooked beef--mmmmmmm! And yes, you can get fries with that.

That's only four "cups" of coffee if you think about it - just all in one big container. Actually, I started drinking coffee when I was making those daily trips to and from Stillwater to examine your bank . . . mostly before your tenure there. . .
