Way, way south.

Carrie stunk? Regarding the first performance, are you smoking something or just don't like Country music?
Didn't see her second song, hear it wasn't great but not bad.

Why did Paula ask is Vonzelle was ok and why was she crying.
I thought Carrie did well with the first song, second wasn't as good. Bo did well on both, but Simon thought the first wasn't good. Anthony did good with both and he has never been one I favored. Vonzelle did better on second. Tonight is going to be tough. I couldn't get thru to vote. Bottom three will probably be Anthony, Carrie and Vonzell with Anthony or Vonzelle leaving. That's just my guess.

I tuned into Idol a bit late (about the time Vonzell finished her first song) ---- She seemed quite emotional and Paula asked how she was feeling.
What's the story????

Carrie's second song was AWFUL. I capitalized "awful" because it was that bad. Not so much her singing (which was lazy), but the arrangement was terrible. Maybe because it is one of the greatest pop songs ever and was I expecting more.
Vonzell was bad on the first song. Bad song choice and uninspiring performance. If a performer is going to perform a slow song, it has to be a song the audience knows by heart. She did well on her second song.
Bo. First song was good. The second song was out of this world. Randy was right...it should be on his first CD. Everything about it was right except trying to make his outfit fit the song thematically. Bad move.
Anthony. His first song was OK. I did not hear much of his second song, but it sounded ok also. OK, but not great.
BO stays for sure. Carrie stays on the strength of her first song. Vonzell stay on the strength of her second song, unless Anthony knocked the second song out of the park (which I doubt).

I got home from my meeting early and managed to catch the last 3 songs so I saw Bo do the Apprentice theme song, Vonzelle rock, and Anthony do whatever it was.
I thought Bo's phrasing was a tidge off, but maybe I'm just used to the Apprentice version.
Vonzelle did pretty well, she started off kind of doing it by rote but picked up some energy a few phrases in and really rocked it towards the end.
I finally figured out what it is I don't like about Anthony. He can definitely sing, I'll give him that, but he just has zero charisma, stage presence, electricity. I couldn't see ever getting excited about going to see him perform live. And for that, I think he should probably go home now. I can't really think what would be a good career - maybe doing studio work or soundtracks, but not anything where he's going to have to rule a stage.

Ok, you all know how I feel about Anthony. That being said, he does not deserve to go home this week. Both of his songs were solid, and frankly, he did the best of anyone this week in his combined performances. He loses a bit on degree of difficulty, but then lets look at the others.
Carrie: I expected MUCH MUCH more from her on her first song. She IS country, and her song choice stunk, and her rendition stunk. And I DO like country, and I HAVE been her supporter all season from day 1. That being said, she should be on the chopping block. Her second song was HORRIBLE she should be embarassed by the way her version compared to the same song sung by Anthony, who did indeed knock it out of the park.
Bo: Bo knows Bo. He did what he does, his first song was aaigght, but definately better than Carrie's lackluster performance and Vonzell's tear filled performance. His second song, Money, was a great choice, since it's a song everyone knows, and he did a great job. What was the deal with the footwear?
Vonzell: Vonzie is a favorite of mine, and I am intrigued to find out tonight why she was so emotional last night. Rumor has it that an 11 year old fan/friend died Monday, and that Vonz had been speaking with her daily throughout the week. In any case, her first song was shaky, but as Randy said, she, as usual, picked the toughest song on the list. Her second song was solid, but not as good as she has been.
Vonzell is in danger, and Carrie should be going home. That being said, when you take the entire season into account, I hope Anthony goes.

I agreed w/Simon about Carrie's song - she didn't really do that well. But I believe it'll be Bo and Carrie in the finals.

I saw Bo do the Apprentice theme song
That is a great old O'Jays song. It is sad that it'll probably be known as the Theme to the Apprentice from now on. However, I am sure the O'Jays will salve their sadness with all the money they receive from Trump's show.

I think Anthony would be good for broadway (some type of stage performance) -- he's never been my favorite.
Liked everything about Bo's second song... even the look. reminded me of a jim morrison a little.

Has he done a Doors song yet? I'd like to hear him do one, I think you're right, he does have a bit of the look.

I've been a fan of Bo's, but after watching his second song last night I realized that he is not "American Idol" material. At least not in Pop music. He really belongs in a rock act. Some producer looking for a lead singer in a new band needs to sign him up.
In my best Simon voice, I'll say: "I think Bo is a great performer, but not in Pop music."

I think Bo was great AGAIN, last night. It took me awhile to get through to vote for him! He has got to be the one to win this competition. Oh, and I liked his look.
Vonzell did good on her second song. The first one really sounded out of tune to me. She was pretty emotional about something though, so I'm sure that affected her performance.
Carrie was Carrie. I don't think she performed well on either song --- just my opinion.
As for Anthony, like Michael, you all know how I feel about Anthony, but he did do a decent job last night. Much better than Carrie.
I think it will come down to Anthony or Carrie tonight for the bottom two.

Well, I have not been the biggest fan - more of a fickle fan, but after last night, I have no doubt that Bo will win the competition. His first song was just ok - he sang it well, it was just a boring song. The second song he sang was probably the best performance from all American idol shows, with the possible exception of the one song Fantasia sang where she was sitting on the stage - I forgot the song, but it was awesome. Bo is on a different level I think.

I have fallen down the rabbit ...

Bo is fabulosus! Carrie didn't do as well as she usually does- but she still has a great voice- she looks like an idol and I think has the most potential for POP country music- and I think that is what the masses are looking for. Anthony -I don't care for at all- he has a limited range and he looks to smirmy .. Vonzy- she has potential to be a huge success! She has a huge range and confidence I think the tears will help her in the voting.
I think Anthony is the least talented no matter what happens.

Bo seems to be the one to beat. He’s consistent from week to week. The others seem to have too many ups and downs. Then there is Anthony who I think has a nice voice, but his performances are consistently mediocre. Anthony should go.
I miss Scott, he reminded me of Lumpy.

Did anyone notice Paula's actions and somewhat slurred speech last night? She was more critical and open in her judging than what she ususally is.

I was disappointed in both Carrie and Bo last night. I see their names everywhere as the final two and I just expect better. Both of Bo's songs were boring to me in comparison to the Travis Tritt and O'Jay's versions. Anthony did extremely well last night for Anthony, but he is not "The American Idol" material. I don't know who consulted with Vonzell regarding her first song choice, but she should never listen to them again! I love both the Yearwood and Rimes versions to that song, but Vonzell and the band were both dragging. Thank goodness she rocked the second song (I admit that it took a few bars though) and I like how Randy (?) equated it to gymnastics and the level of difficulty. Most of the time she picks the highest level of the competition and does very well. She is my "American Idol."

The song you are thinking of is Summertime, by George Gershwin from Porgy and Bess.
