Good ol' Stillwater, USA...home of the Jumpin Jukebox at Eskimo Joes! God love em. Talk about some cheese fries there, nothin like em! I too took up coffee from my college days at OSU sitting at the Village Inn cramming for Accounting finals. Small world.

Chinese people, in general, probably don't like hotdogs or hamburgers, but over time they will as western companies move into the country.

If Restaurants Worked Like Microsoft
Patron: Waiter!
Waiter: Hi, my name is Bill, and I'll be your Support Waiter. What seems to be the problem?
Patron: There's a fly in my soup!
Waiter: Try again, maybe the fly won't be there this time.
Patron: No, it's still there.
Waiter: Maybe it's the way you're using the soup; try eating it with a fork instead.
Patron: Even when I use the fork, the fly is still there.
Waiter: Maybe the soup is incompatible with the bowl; what kind of bowl are you using?
Patron: A SOUP bowl!
Waiter: Hmmm, that should work. Maybe it's a configuration problem; how was the bowl set up?
Patron: You brought it to me on a saucer; what has that to do with the fly in my soup?!
Waiter: Can you remember everything you did before you noticed the fly in your soup?
Patron: I sat down and ordered the Soup of the Day!
Waiter: Have you considered upgrading to the latest Soup of the Day?
Patron: You have more than one Soup of the Day each day??
Waiter: Yes, the Soup of the Day is changed every hour.
Patron: Well, what is the Soup of the Day now?
Waiter: The current Soup of the Day is tomato.
Patron: Fine. Bring me the tomato soup, and the check. I'm running late now.
Waiter: leaves and returns with another bowl of soup and the check
Waiter: Here you are, Sir. The soup and your check.
Patron: This is potato soup.
Waiter: Yes, the tomato soup wasn't ready yet.
Patron: Well, I'm so hungry now, I'll eat anything.
Waiter leaves.
Patron: Waiter! There's a gnat in my soup!

The check:
Soup of the Day . ........... . . . $5.00
Upgrade to newer Soup of the Day. . . $2.50
Access to support . . . . . . . . . . $7.00

Okay here's a question for all:

How do you know when you are a BOL addict?

- My answer: I am going on vaction next week and it actually crossed my mind to look at the threads while I was gone! HELP! HELP! HELP!

My Gramma referred to dating as "spooning" or "pitching woo". How'd they every come up with words like that?

Even better, according to my husband - the Titanium Spork from REI. He begged for one for a couple of years before breaking down and getting one for himself to use when backpacking with the Boy Scouts in Alaska this summer. He said it came in handy when eating some of the salmon they caught.

Nanwa --

Spooning? Picture spoons lying on their sides with their bowls nested. Or, if you prefer something less suggestive, one dictionary suggests the term comes from an old Welsh custom of the engaged man giving his fiancée an ornately carved wooden spoon. Perhaps to start her kitchen with?

At least your Grandma didn't start with stories of "bundling boards"!

Before anyone jumps on that one, I read about them. Definitely before my time.

Here's my version of Martha Stewart...we're having a staff party Wednesday evening after an in-house compliance conference and I'm in charge of refreshments. Since I never watched Martha Stewart's TV show where I might have learned how to make the perfect margarita...I thought it only fitting to take some comp time this afternoon and practice putting that salt around the rims and, of course, to see if that new blender works.

Have a great weekend!

My opinions are my own and I hope my boss is not shocked.

Seriously, I checked BOL during the 2nd week of a 2 week vacation in August this year. Several people had made comments like "Where is David. We haven't heard from him on this or that." Then I got sick last week and didn't post for 3-4 days. I saw another comment like that. I had to post just to let you all know that I was still alive. It is so good to be missed.

That's another sign of BOL addiction- noticing when someone is absent! I will confess to visiting BOL daily, whether I'm in the office, at home, or on vacation.

Hey Ann, I saw that episode. She was making these itty bitty glasses , not even a good gulp...not like the local mexican restuarant that serves them up in a fish bowl that it takes two hands to handle. Hey.....that might help our feelings on this long Friday afternoon! (now that I am no longer hungry)

Perhaps, hopefully, you are addicted only to BOL, but you may be a www addict if:

1.) You refer to going to the bathroom as downloading.
2.) You step out of your room and realize that your spouse has moved and you don't have a clue as to when it happened.
3.) Your bookmark takes 15 minutes to go from top to bottom.
4.) Your nightmares are in HTML and GIFS.
5.) You turn off your modem and get this awful empty feeling, like you just pulled the plug on a loved one.
6.) You start introducing yourself as "Jim at net dot com"
7.) Your heart races faster and beats irregularly each time you see a new WWW site address on TV.
8.) You turn on your intercom when leaving the room so you can hear if new e-mail arrives.
9.) Your wife drapes a blond wig over your monitor to remind you of what she looks like.
10.) All of your friends have an @ in their names.
11.) When looking at a web page full of someone else's links, you notice all of them are already highlighted in purple.
12.) Your dog has its own home page.
13.) You can't call your mother... She doesn't have a modem.
14.) You check your mail. It says "no new messages." So you check it again.
15.) Your phone bill is as heavy as a brick.
16.) You write your homework in HTML and give your instructor the URL.
17.) You don't know the sex of three of your closest friends, because they have neutral nicknames and you never bothered to ask.
18.) Your husband tells you that he has had the beard for 2 months.
19.) You wake up at 3 a.m. to go to the bathroom and stop and check your e-mail on the way back to bed.
20.) You tell the kids they can't use the computer because "Daddy's got work to do" -- even though you don't have a job.
21.) You buy a Captain Kirk chair with a built-in keyboard and mouse.
22.) Your wife makes a new rule: "The computer cannot come to bed."
23.) You get a tattoo that says "This body best viewed with Netscape 3.0 or higher."
24.) You never have to deal with busy signals when calling your ISP... because you never log off.
25.) The last girl you picked up was only a GIF.
26.) You ask a plumber how much it would cost to replace the chair in front of your computer with a toilet.
27.) Your wife says communication is important in a marriage... so you buy another computer and install a second phone line so the two of you can chat.
28.) As your car crashes through the guardrail on a mountain road, your first instinct is to search for the "back" button.

I work part time - Wed thru Fri usually - so I really have alot of catching up to do on Wed. I tried going to BOL at home, but it just ain't the same. Besides, my husband thinks I'm nuts!

I also winter in Florida from just before Christmas to around Easter. Will you miss me? I had better tune in to BOL to keep in touch!

I just got a pop-up ad from Schwan's!? Never seen one before.

That is too eerie--with all this talk of food. I better check for spyware on my computer, again.

Do you think Martha would have used the little sombrero container of salt that when you pour salt in the lid you can dip your glass ( the rim carefully rubbed with lime) into it? So cool!
