Dawnie, a quick Google search yields the following answers to your question: David Cassidy - yes, looks like he could use some Botox. Bobby Sherman - now a law enforcement officer with San Bernadino County Sheriff's Office.

Are you forgetting Bobby Goldsboro --remember Watching Scotty Grow? That is a sappy song, but it chokes me up every time.

I got all of you beat.... My Bonnie lies over the ocean...., My Bonnie lies over the sea.... And you can only IMAGINE the elementary school versions of the verses after that. Not to mention the age old - "Hey Bonnie, where's Clyde?" My usually reply was to simply laugh it off. My mental reply was "Oh genius - thought that one up all by yourself, did you?"

There is an incredibly cheesy song that has my name in it that has you all beat--unfortunately, if I told you, it would give away my secret identity. Drat!

Try growing up with the name 'Autumn'. I still get jokes about it (at 42 years old) and everyone thinks they are soooo original!

There is a song called "Forever Autumn" from the late 70s--it was a solo effort by the lead singer of the Moody Blues, Justin Hayward. It's actually a beautiful song. You can listen to a clip here: Best of the Moody Blues No, my name is not McArthur Park...that is a cheesy song, but I dare say my namesake song is much cheesier. Oh, the temptation to blow my cover is overwhelming.

Ah, you got my hopes up. Unfortunately, the name is the same, but unless he got cosmetic surgery, that is not him. Keep looking. Thanks. Now, back to rehearsals..."watch me pull a rabbit....oh, #$*!"

Zaibatsu, is your real name Rumplestiltskin? I had a Bobby Goldsboro lunchbox and a life size poster of him on my door. My best friend, however, ended up with a Green Hornet lunchbox because her dad wouldn't let her go into the drugstore with him to pick it out. Her little girl visions of sacheting into first grade with a Barbie lunchbox were smashed to smithereens...

Anyone out there remember Captain Kangaroo? It was my favorite show to watch in the morning, before going to school. Also, Bewitched, I just knew if I could wiggle my nose just like Samantha, something magical would happen to me.
Not that long ago I received an interesting e-mail about the Captain: Captain Kangaroo turned 75 recently, which is odd, because he's never looked a day under 75. (Birthday 6/27/27)
It reminded me of the following story. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Some people have been a bit offended that Lee Marvin is buried in a grave alongside 3 and 4 star generals at Arlington National Cemetery. His marker gives his name, rank (PVT) and service (USMC). Nothing else.
Here's a guy who was only a famous movie star who served his time, why the heck does he rate burial with these guys? Well, following is the amazing answer:
I always liked Lee Marvin, but did not know the extent of his Marine Corps experiences. In a time when many Hollywood stars served their country in the armed forces, often in rear-echelon posts where they were carefully protected, only to be trotted out to perform for the cameras in war bond promotions, Lee Marvin was a genuine hero. He won the Navy Cross at Iwo Jima. There is only one higher Naval award... the Medal Of Honor.
If that is a surprising comment on the true character of the man, he credits his sergeant with an even greater show of bravery.
Dialog From The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson: His guest was Lee Marvin.
Johnny said, "Lee, I'll bet a lot of people are unaware that you were a Marine in the initial landing at Iwo Jima... and that during the course of that action you earned the Navy Cross and were severely wounded."
"Yeah, yeah... I got shot square in the ass and they gave me the Cross for securing a hot spot about halfway up Suribachi... bad thing about getting shot up on a mountain is guys gettin' shot hauling you down. But Johnny, at Iwo I served under the bravest man I ever knew... We both got the Cross the same day, but what he did for his Cross made mine look cheap in comparison. The dumb bastard actually stood up on RED beach and directed his troops to move forward and get the hell off the beach. That Sergeant and I have been lifelong friends. When they brought me off Suribachi we passed the Sergeant and he lit a smoke and passed it to me lying on my belly on the litter and said, 'Where'd they get you Lee?' Well Bob... if you make it home before me, tell Mom to sell the outhouse!
Johnny, I'm not lying...Sergeant Keeshan was the bravest man I ever knew..... Bob Keeshan... You and the world know him as Captain Kangaroo."

I just remembered a take off on the "It's About Time" theme song that we thought was SOOOO funny when I was in 3rd grade...
It's about time, It's about space, It's about time, to slap your face.
Third grade humor just doesn't translate to adults.
