"Gilligan's Island" was the best....

"Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip...."

Gilligan's Island rocked! I know when I had my baby and we were up ALL NIGHT LONG for the first week, I was laid up on the couch b/c I had a C-Section and Gilligan would come on at 2:00a.m. every night! I knew I was in heaven. A baby in a cradle and Gilligan on T.V. I still think it strange that the Professor could make a radio out of a coconut but couldn't lay some boards across that big hole in the boat to get them out of there!! Don't forget Fantasy Island!!! "Wheres da plane?"

If I remember correctly, didn't the Professor wear a very early version of Dockers? I swear, the man was dressed like "Corporate Casual Friday" and not like a professor.

I remember watching Gilligan in my pre-and teen years. Ginger looked good!

Then there is always the Ginger or Mary Ann debate. I won't start that.

This blast from the past has been fun. Got me thinking of a few more...H.R. Puff n Stuff, I Dream of Jeannie, The Dukes of Hazard, Room 222, Welcome Back Kotter, Mork from Ork (nanoo, nanoo), and The Dick Van Dyke Show with Mary Tyler Moore (I still watch those reruns).

This past week my son (a first grader) had to wear 50's stuff to school. The letter they sent home was for them to wear stuff from the 50's like their grandparents wore. Since I was born in the 50's (just barely) it seemed kinda odd to be put in the grandparent category. Although being almost 44 (next week Saturday) and having a 7 year isn't exactly the norm. Oh well!!!

Those were some great ones too. Remember the "Carol Burnett Show" Tim Conway was the best....I loved his MR. TUDBOL(sp?) character. Use to bring tears to my eyes I laughed so hard.

My daughter had to dress like the 50's for a concert last night. Funny thing was she did find a pair of cat eye glasses in our Halloween box but decided to wear my letter jacket from the 70's!

I've heard of making a battery out of a potato, but not a radio. Maybe he made a battery for the radio out of a potato?

Do you remember a late 60s short-lived comedy about a bumbling super hero--I think he had to take a little pill to have powers (was not a cartoon--Underdog). I think the theme song said something about him being in his pajamas.

I believe that was Squeamish Stanley Beamish, starring in "Mr. Terrific." Or was it "Captain Nice?"

THAT'S IT!!! We thought it was funny, but it may have been because we were very young at the time.

Now, is there a super-hero theme song that somewhere in the song asks why (or comments that) the hero is in his pajamas???

I was sitting here at my desk with a mind full of mush at the end of a long week. I clicked on this thread, and since I had read all the posts above Bonnie's, hers was the first one that showed up on my screen. Between the time I clicked and the time the new page loaded, I forgot which thread I was on, so when I looked up and saw the comment above, I just thought that was the funniest thing I had read all day.

Thanks for the laugh!

Sorry, but that radio story sounds half baked!

How about "Sheera, Queen of the Jungle"! My daughter loved that show and also "Won-der Wo-man"!

6 Million Dollar Man was cool for his time. Technology gets cheaper. Would he have appreciated, or depreciated?

I think the earliest I remember is Bozo the clown and Romper Room. I did used to have some homemade Romper Stompers!

I know I'm joining a little late, but I just have to say Romper Room ROCKED!!! I wouldn't go anywhere without my Romper Stompers(I think I had the real ones!). Remember the magic mirror Miss Marty would look into at the end of the show and see us??? SHE EVEN SAW ME A COUPLE OF TIMES!!
