Heh Heh Z...the Man who made the board with the dots on it!

And T...that looks to be the one. This guy also invented Star Trek (the concept of which he sold to Gene Roddenbury). He kept the rights to the development of all the toys and goodies though so he's made a fortune over the years.

And he's still playing Twister

I have always loved the 56 Thunderbird Convertible. That being unobtainable as a teen, I had my father talked into a Bradley GT. But, alas, the plan fell through. I wound up with the tank, a 66 Impala.

I had a 73 Dodge Polara (old police car). At least an Impala was cool at some point!

But . . . interesting info on the GTO. I never wondered where the name came from and did not know that Pontiac was involved in Euro racing. I guess that is why they named the sister car of the GTO - LeMans.

I had a 1968 LeMans rag top. It was white with a black interior and rag top. Bucket seats too. The LeMans was a milder version of the GTO. However, with a 350 under the hood, it was no slouch, especially when jazzed up. Mine had a Carter 4 barrel, Hearst 4 on the floor, dual Thrush mufflers w/chrome tails, mags, and a jacked up butt (using air shocks)over G60 street slicks. She had a sweet rumble and was fast. I kind of chuckle now that I think of the car as a "she". If you heard that Allan Jackson song about his first love, you would understand. Whenever I happen upon a classic show, I still look for her. I've seen alot of GTOs but have not seen my first since I dumped her.

Hope you did not own this car in Texas. Reminds me of a song:

Baby, baby go and fetch some water,
Throw it on me so that I don't melt.
Can't you see you've got me burning hotter,
than a black vinyl car seat in hell!

I here ya Zaibatsu. Owned the car in Mary-land down near the Bay south of Bawlmer. Although not as hot for prolonged periods like Texas, the summers were hot and humid. We usually had at least a week or two of 90+ days. Being young and stupid, I occasionally drove around with just shorts on. On those bright sunny days, I remember being stuck to that vinyl and badly wanting to call for help to peel me from the bucket seat.
