I have to say I haven't seen guidance on this, but my sense is that I'd want the password to be as secure as possible, which means alpha-numeric and at least one symbol. Until I bought an iPhone recently, I hadn't seen X attempts at the password and the phone data is erased. While I like that, it also scares me. As this is my own phone I could see my kids trying to use it when I leave it on my desk and trying codes to see if they can open it. Again, this is my own phone. If it were my banks I could tell them hands off. As it it, they love playing with my iPhone.
Interestingly, not 5 minutes ago I finished researching encryption programs so that I can enter private data in an encrypted folder on my phone. That will be over and above the 4-digit code needed to log on the phone.

Does anybody know if there is any guidance available about the password requirements on bank employee cell phones? Do they need to be the typical 6-8 characters, at least one upper and one lower case, and contain a special character? Also, for those of you who have password protected cell phones, how many attempts do you allow before the cell phone is wiped clean?
