Discrimination against the majority

Answered by:

Question:
Has there been a case where a lender tried so hard to assist minority applicants that it had a fair lending issue with majority applicants?
Answer:

Yes. The OCC cited a $7 million bank in Maryland in 2013 because loan policy favored minorities and women as it inadvertently charged higher rates on white males and married couples. Discrimination is a two-way street and what’s fair is fair for all.
