Do you need a SAR committee?

Question:
Is there a regulatory requirement for a bank to have a SAR Committee that reviews and approves every suspicious activity report prior to filing?
Answer:

There is no regulatory requirement for a bank to establish a SAR Committee. Many factors should be considered if your bank elects to create a SAR Committee. The SAR Committee should never compromise compliance risks for revenue interests.
