Free lunch brings problems!

Answered by:

Question:
Our bank is bringing back a snack bar for customers while in the lobby is this wise?
Answer:

We found during the pandemic that all financial institutions stopped providing a free lunch to visitors. There are many problems with doing this at any financial institution. Some find in the morning that street people are lining up to get that free cup of coffee. One bank told us they were surprised to find that the street people had money enough to open accounts just to gain access to a warm building with free coffee. This area is also great to watch how the bank operates if you are going to rob it or scam elderly customers. If your financial institution wants to provide this service make it only available in the loan area where people may have to wait for service. Pod branches should think carefully on where to locate the snack bar if they have embraced the universal banker concept resulting with no separate areas for private discussions.
