While everyone likes a good joke, the trouble in telling jokes in the office is that “what’s funny to one person isn’t necessarily funny to the next.” That doesn’t mean you can tell jokes, it just means you have to be very careful about the “material” and “context” of the joke. Your Anti-Harassment Policy needs to make it clear that “off-color” jokes and ones that poke fun of any particular set of people are probably to be avoided. And… once someone indicates that they’re offended, it’s no laughing matter. The joke stops, immediately.
