How Many Times Can A Company Send An ACH

Answered by:

Question:
How many times can a company send thru an ACH?
Answer:

That depends upon the nature of the first ACH submission. An RCK (represented check) entry can be transmitted no more than twice after the first return of a paper item and no more than once after the second return of the check it represents. A debit entry that has been returned for stop payment may not be reinitiated unless authorized by the Receiver. Any reinitiation of an entry must be within 180 days of the Settlement Date of the original entry, and reinitiation is not permitted more than twice for an Entry that has been returned for insufficient or uncollected funds. Refer to subsection 2.12.4 of NACHA's ACH Rules.
