How Will Merger Affect Unique Branches RSSD#s?

Question:

We are a National Bank with two branches. We have two sister banks that have branches of their own. At the end of this year we will be merging & becoming a State Bank instead of a National Bank. Currently we have our own unique RSSD number & so do our branches. How will the merger affect the RSSD numbers & how are these numbers derived?

The people who should be able to answer your question are at the National Information Center. Note the word "should." I've tried to talk to them without success...

On second thought, I think it more critical to talk to FinCEN and see when it is that they would expect you to start using any "new" RSSD that might be assigned to your branches.
