Imaging system conversion vs. deconversion

Question:
What is the difference between an imaging “conversion” and a “deconversion”?
Answer:

“Deconversion” typically occurs first and involves migrating the bank’s images and data from the previous imaging system. A “conversion” involves migrating those images and data to the new platform. In many cases, both a deconversion and a conversion may be required to migrate from one imaging system to another.
