Improve Your Web Site Through Bookmarking

Question:
Do you think it's realistic for a bank to expect customers to make the bank's Web site their starting page?
Answer:

Answer by Mary Beth Guard
Probably not, although it's certainly reasonable to expect them to bookmark it. To save time, we all want to use as a starting page a Web site that offers the type of information we need most frequently. Do you know what your customers need? Does your bank's Web page provide it? If your bank's Web page is a true information portal that offers access to news, stocks, weather and more, and you gather and use customer suggestions for enhancement, you may win their starting page loyalty.

Not unless you have provided some compelling reason for them to do so. If that is the gateway to Internet banking and that is what the customer does on-line, yes. If you offer a customizable portal where the customer can find news, financial information weather, etc. perhaps. If it is static product information, unless they want to re-read that over and over, absolutely not. Consider content and accessibility to what a user wants.
