Issuing a Personal Representative a Debit Card

Answered by:

Question:
Can we issue a debit card to the Personal Representative on an estate account?
Answer:

It's not a normal request, but there's no prohibition of which I am aware. The Personal Representative is responsible to the court for the administration of the estate and has a fiduciary responsibility to the estate and its beneficiaries. If the Personal Representative can document the legitimacy of any card transactions to those to whom he or she is accountable, I see no problem.
