Joint Owners Signatures on Security Agreement

Answered by:

Question:
For loans secured by savings or CD's, can just one of the joint owners sign the security agreement (if the account is owned by John "or" Jane), or must all joint owners sign?
Answer:

State law issue. In Texas, not all parties have to sign, but if they do not sign, the bank has to send a certified letter to the other parties notifying them of the security interest.
