The auditor would have to maintain their independence when it came to areas in which they were involved in auditing. If they also were a Loan Officer and on the Loan Committee, it would pretty much disqualify them from performing any audits involving the lending function. If they were a senior officer with influence on major policy decisions, they would be pretty much disqualified from any internal audit function as they would no longer be independent.
