MSB Renewal Registration: How to Obtain

Answered by:

Question:
MSB renewal registration is due by December 31, 2014. In a recent FDIC audit, it was noted that previous (2012) renewal filings were not obtained and only Registration Summaries from FINCEN were in file. I apologize for what seems like a simple question, I am new to this position, is there an easy way to get the renewal filing or should we ask our customer for this?
Answer:

I am at a loss as to what the FDIC may have been looking for.

According to FinCEN themselves: "The MSB Registrant Search Web page reflects information exactly as provided by the registrant. Posted entries should include: (1) Registrant's legal name, (2) Registrant's "doing business as" name (if applicable), (3) Registrant's address, (4) MSB activities in which the Registrant engages, (5) states in which the Registrant engages in MSB activities, (6) number of branches, (7) date the registration form was signed, and (8) date the registration form was received."

Additionally, "MSB acknowledgement letters will not be sent to MSBs. FinCEN will not provide facsimiles or copies of filed Registration of Money Services Business (RMSB) Form 107s."

There isn't any other documentation available anymore.
