The sad answer to this question is family members, caregivers and criminals using telemarketing. A family member who is taking care of the senior person might feel entitled to their assets in payment for the care they provide. Caregivers who have worked with elderly before know what scares the elderly. The caregiver or family member may threaten them if they don’t do as they demand by withholding medications, not allowing people to visit and, worst of all, threaten the senior’s pet.
