POA effective date

Answered by:

Question:
Does a power of attorney go into effect immediately after it is executed?
Answer:

The power of attorney will go into effect when executed – unless it specifically states that it will take effect at a specified future date or will take effect when certain conditions exist (such as a doctor certifying that the principal is incapacitated, for example).
